Dictionary pages

Hi there,

Please note that dictionary subpages should only be made by a bot.

Der Wintermantel

Hi there. You keep reverting the style images on the Der Wintermantel page to the older versions which is why they are not consistent. The thumbnail may appear broken when you try to go to the correct revision, however you may have to clear the cache of the page or simply wait for the thumbnail to fix itself (or maybe ask a staff member to delete and reupload the images). You keep adding to the page that they need to be consistent, however they already were consistent. Please tell me if you understand, as I do not want to cause an edit war/back to back undos.

Hello. Yes, the images are consistent, but the thumbnail issue still remains. I think the best way to solve the issue is to ask a TF Wiki staff member to delete the image and let us reupload them.
Tiagoquix (talk) 16:22, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
Have you tried clearing the cache first? Constantly reverting versions is only going to make this issue worse.
GrampaSwood (talk) 16:24, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
The problem isn't the cache. It's about server-side thumbnail generation. The image works fine, but the thumbnail does not.
Tiagoquix (talk) 20:26, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
I have reverted it back to my revisions considering the two unpainted RED images looked inconsistent with every other painted variant on the table. I suggested creating 2 new files (with the same images that show the entirety of the coat) and change the filename on the Styles section, but I would wait more people to reply to this topic before doing anything. I wanted to ask Wookipan about this before, if there's a way to fix these thumbnail issues somehow (perhaps a Wiki maintenance or something that could make the site offline for a while, like when game servers go to maintenance), because there are more cases like this in the Wiki where the thumbnail have been showing improperly months / years after upload (like Handsome Devil and Head of the Dead), usually showing the older revision instead of the newer one. We can't really do that, it's either a cache issue or it has to be reuploaded. I can delete them for you but I'd need the correct file and which files exactly, as currently there are about 6 different revisions.
GrampaSwood (talk) 06:57, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
For the Der Wintermantel's case, I am the original uploader for the unpainted RED images in both styles, also for some images that also have problems (like the Jungle Wreath infobox picture). Although, there are a few other images around the Wiki with the same problem where I wasn't the original uploader. Do note that I don't have the original images in my computer anymore, as I get rid of them after uploading. But I'll link to you on Steam Chat the correct revisions so you can delete it and re-upload. Approving pages for moves

Hi there,

Please note that only Wiki Staff can approve a page to be moved to mainspace, there also hasn't been any discussion on these.

All right. Thanks for the notice.

VSH custom mod title

Hi there,

Please see this page, custom content such as maps and missions have the (custom map) suffix such as Firewatch (custom map) or Coral Crusher (custom mission).

Hey! Thanks for letting me know. Shouldn't we use "custom game mode" then?
Tiagoquix (talk) 13:47, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
That works too, yeah. Apologies for not responding to the talk page topic you've opened. I must've missed that.
BLU Wiki Cap.png | s | GrampaSwood (talk) 13:48, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
Don't worry, that's OK. Is there any other page that also uses "(custom mode)", excluding VSH?
Also, do I have the permission to move without leaving a redirect? I don't see an option to do that.
Tiagoquix (talk) 13:50, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
I don't believe any of them do, {{Mod Nav}} documents a few, feel free to move them all to use (custom mode) or (custom gamemode). There's no option to move without redirect, but leaving a redirect is preferable.
BLU Wiki Cap.png | s | GrampaSwood (talk) 13:57, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
Done. Thank you for your willingness.
Tiagoquix (talk) 14:04, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
Just to clarify: I think it's only necessary to add "(custom game mode)" if there's an official one with the same name (VSH, for example). No need to add it if there's no ambiguity.
Tiagoquix (talk) 14:06, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
I'm not sure, I suppose it's fine at the moment.

Wikipedia disclaimers

Hi there,

Generally, there are several Wikipedia policies that we don't follow, the disclaimer one being one of them (as we have several disclaimers about not editing in certain things, for example). There are also some others, such as no original research (pretty much the whole Wiki is original research and we should consider ourself the place for TF2-related knowledge) or Wikipedia is not a reliable source (as we do accept our own Wiki as citations).
