- I think it has been too. I am friends with you on steam and never talked to you and then you sent me a Subnautica 2 Play Test Link out of the blue. Looked it up and its a thing that happens to breached accounts. Fisherboy800 (talk) 20:36, 7 July 2025 (UTC)

Scream Fortress 2025 Paint Variants
Hi, I saw you uploaded paint variants for the Buzz Kill. I've been doing a lot of paint variants behind the scenes, and I'll be uploading them soon... including the Buzz Kill which I wasn't aware you were going to work on them. If there's any other paints you want to work on, please let me know so we avoid doing the same thing at the same time, but these are the ones I've already made: Buzz Kill, Fused Plates, Cigarillo Caballero, Professor Photon, Misdirector, Sleight of Hand. They will be uploaded later, starting 13 October 2025. While I appreciate your work on the Buzz Kill paints, I will be replacing them as my version shows more of the hair from the top, which is what's paintable on that item. I might do Velveteen Villain last, as it may get a material/model update from the authors. Thanks!

- Could I perhaps do Velveteen Villain then? It would be nice if I actually did contribute to one of the paint variants.

- You can do Velveteen Villain, yes, you can do Feathered Foe too, and if you really want, Heat Shield, but that's a lot of paints for 4 separate styles (and for both teams). Please let me know which ones you'd like to make so I won't create paint variants for them. Heat Shield's paints should utilize Engineer's head_materials, as the 2 last styles have only the mask on. For the Velveteen Villain, just keep in mind that Sniper's shirt / vest paints should (almost) always utilize the same Rotation values and the same _materials, specifically:
- Rot:
(28.393925 -41.925488 -23.125006) - _materials: https://github.com/gabrielwoj/hlmv-resources/raw/main/VPKs%20-%20ZIPs%20-Releases/HLMV%20Rotations%20Page%20-%20Sniper%20Shirt%20%2B%20White%20Shirt%20%2B%20No%20Quiver%20Clip%20Files%20(!).vpk
- Rot:
- The reason for the exact Rot value is due to how I made the _materials to get rid of the quiver that has notorious clipping. The exceptions to this rule were only applied to Birdman of Australiacatraz, afaik, due to not showing too much of the item, and the angle used not actually showing the clipping that would happen otherwise. Also the Velveteen Villain MAY get updated, as previously mentioned, I am unsure if the other items in the set would also be updated. So I'd wait a little bit before making the paints.
- Some of non-paintable items like Seamann's Stubble, Hellscape, Pyromantic Plumage and Pantaloons of Unabashed Villainy requires better screenshots, so feel free to redo those if you'd like. As for the Service Satchel, I need to see what's best for that item (if I should make Engi's belt visible or not), as for the Viscera Visor, there might need to be some adjustments to be made due to the item's translucid visor.

- Actually, you might come across an issue with Sniper's lenses on the Feathered Foe. Let me know if that is the case, because there is a workaround that.

- Yes, I would like to do those please, and I would also like the fix on the Feathered Foe.

- Alright, I don't plan in doing more paint variants for this update. As for the Feathered Foe, it's simple. Get this vpk. Once you load the item via TFMV, you'll notice that Sniper won't have his glasses. I assume you are using the latest version of HLMV++, so, do the following:
- Select the item you want, in this case, Feathered Foe
- Once loaded on HLMV++. go to Submodels and click "Remove All"
- Click Add [Steam] and go to the TFMV folder and load tfmv_bg.mdl
- Now click Add [Steam] again, go to player, then hwm, and load sniper_glasses.mdl
- Still on Submodels, click the sniper_glasses.mdl submodel and switch the skin from Skin 1 to Skin 2
- Now load the proper model. Tip: Go back to TFMV, right-click on the item you want, click copy MDL path. Now all you need to do is paste the path after clicking Add [Steam].
- TFMV's way of background color change is weird, and it makes translucent materials, like Sniper's glasses, disappear. The way to make it show it back depends on the order of submodels. Since we can't put the main model below tfmv_bg.mdl on the list, the workaround works by having the glasses as a separate model instead. The change from Skin 1 to Skin 2 is just because TFMV forces player textures, and since his glasses is the same between teams, that's not a problem.
