User talk:The guy with a tie
Hello, The guy with a tie!
Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page, you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the
button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User The guy with a tie to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:The guy with a tie/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

Emojis
How do you type emojis on the wiki, if I may ask? Is it a mobile thing or some browser extension? Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 21:59, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
pretty simple keyboard shortcut, just press windows key and period to type emojis -The guy with a tie (talk) 22:18, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
User images
Hi The guy with a tie,
Please add "User The guy with a tie" in front of any file you intend to use on your user space, for example "User The guy with a tie Profile Picture.png". Please also add Category:User images to the image summary. There is no need to upload the image again, I have already changed the file's name. Mediarch

- how do i do that for the future? I'm kind of confused -The guy with a tie (talk) 22:48, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- When uploading files for your userspace make sure the file name starts with "User The guy with a tie" and put the category in the summary box before uploading. Just helps keep everything organized so User files don't conflict with anything in the main wiki and so it doesn't get deleted on accident or anything like that Mediarch

- alright I'll try my best for next time. Thanks! -The guy with a tie (talk) 23:05, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- It happens, I've forgotten to do it a few times myself, just wanted to make sure that you knew for next time. That being said on a sort of related note, if I could give a little bit of advice, I would recommend trying not to take things personally when it comes to the wiki. I saw some or your edits directed at GrampaSwood. If your edit gets removed or modified it's usually best to try understand why it got changed or removed and learning from it as opposed to getting upset. I've been there, it can be frustrating at times, but it's always best to try to learn from the little mistakes instead of lashing out when they pop up. Mediarch
