So, I made one too...

I know this will make many people laugh at me, but I managed to put together a userbox about item customization - I saw one for name tags only, but not a general one. It is on my userpage, on the third line. Thing is, I did not really understand how to make it public so others can use it too... :( -- Jokerine 20:28, 19 September 2011 (PDT)

Shouldn't this...

Be in Team Fortress Wiki: or something? Delicious cake 21:56, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

It's simply a repository for the templates. It's pretty easy to find though. -Firestorm 22:28, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I say...

Shouldn't there be a Poland userbox? Because I was born from Poland. =C AbeX300 02:18, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Will create one. Anything you'd like it to say? -- Smashman... (ts) 02:19, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Wait. There is.
Flag Poland.png This user is Polish. Dzień dobry.
{{User Polish}}

You can change the text if you want. -- Smashman... (ts) 02:20, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

I think it would help a lot of newbies to know how to change the text in pre-made template.
This would be very nice. --Problem 19:31, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Examples

I accidentally undid them because I thought they were vandalism, but they were breaking the page page layout anyway -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 03:06, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

"Uh... a little help here?"

I am not sure how to drag/copy a Userbox or the Weapon Library to my Profile. Can someone please help me? (<- Noob question. :3)

Under each userbox is bracketed name like {{User info box}}, just copy that into your profile. -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 04:18, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, sign your comments on talk pages with ~~~~ -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 04:18, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry keep forgetting. --Sinic 04:23, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Added argentinian userbox

And i find it slightly annoying how there is a "South american" nationality box. --Latin Geek 11:28, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Argentinian user boxes sound good to me, and America is a BIG place. So being more specific sounds fine by me.  – Smashman (talk) 11:42, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Dueling Badges Userboxes

I want to make the Dueling Badges userboxes display the level of the owner's item, but i don't know how to. Can someone do it for me, please? --SLBros 21:50, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Added Hong Kong userbox

Because honestly, nobody except me is from Hong Kong? (nanosheep_inc) 00:16, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

How do I sort it correctly?

Hello, I have the weird problem that after I copy some template codes for the Userboxes, they look like a Staircase. , yet the templates are placed in 1 row.---Yotsubato 02:35, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Move to Team Fortress Wiki:User info boxes?

I'm not sure why this is a main space article. It should really be moved. – Smashman (talk) 01:46, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I think this should go ahead. I'll do it later if noone says anything. – Smashman (talk) 10:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Scottish Infobox

The current text in the Scottish infobox reads "This user is Scottish, and naeb'dy'd best be thinkin' o'herwise." This isn't actually a Scots translation, just a bad attempt at a Scottish accent. Could it be chaned to something like "This breuker is Scottish, an naebody shoud think ithergates!" This is a proper translation. I'd do it myself, but I don't know the rules about editing userboxes someone else has made. Cooper Kid 12:26, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Meh, if you see a glaring error then it's always a good idea to fix it yourself. If the creator doesn't like it then they can revert it. It is a public userbox, after all. --LordKelvin 17:10, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
I changed it last week and it seems to have stuck pretty well. Or maybe no-one's noticed. Anyway, mony thanks! Cooper Kid 03:50, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Parameters

So I figured out how to put the numbers in for the "Dynamic" boxes, but how do you put in a Steam ID? Piggie 14:01, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, I figured it out, it's user=, not id= or steamid= or anything like that.
Nevermind, I lied, I still can't figure it out. I tried the userbox template followed by |user=STEAM_0:1:25970203, |user=0:1:25970203, |user=1:25970203 and |user=25970203, and none of them work.
The explanation text is somewhat poorly worded. Only a couple of the userboxes take a steamid, for example: {{User Steam|nvis}}. The rest only accept numbers, since the stats can't be dynamically retrieved. Gear Gib 5.png nVis 14:38, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
OOOOOOOOOH I get it now. You still have to put the numbers and stuff in yourself, but when you click on the box it takes you to that profile. I thought maybe it would automatically retrieve my playtime/achievements/etc for me. Thanks for explaining. Piggie 14:43, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

How to make userboxes

How do you make userboxes anyway? i wanna know because i have an idea for some. THE3STOOGES/HAMMERHEAD 04:32, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Right here. --User LordKelvin Signature.png LordKelvin 04:34, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I wanted to know that too. User:Gamazek

Achievement count

How do you use this userbox? {User TF2 total achievements} Modulus365 14:09, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Moved Canucks and Red Wings

I moved the Vancouver Canucks Addict and the Detroit Red Wings addict user boxes to a new section labelled "Sports" Just because of the sheer amount of sports user boxes that could be made and just to make it a little easier to find them. Meter1060 18:24, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Parameter

Why isn't there any information about how to correctly enter the required parameter for a user info box? SilverHammer 04:47, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Good question! I've added a brief explanation to the Help:Userboxes page. - Cooper Kid (Blether)·(Contreebs) 01:30, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Film

Can we make a section for film-related user boxes? We have the section for games, so why not? I was going to try to work on some, but I'd like to know what others think. Shane Alvarado 23:35, 25 July 2011 (PDT)

Yes, I like this new idea. Painted Batter's Helmet C36C2D.pngViolencejr123 23:39, 25 July 2011 (PDT)
I probably won't be able to work on some until Tuesday, but of course I would invite anyone to go ahead. Like you would need my invitation. Is anyone in opposition? Shane Alvarado 21:53, 29 July 2011 (PDT)
Hmm I should do the most watched flims like saw or fast in the furious. Painted Batter's Helmet C36C2D.pngViolencejr123 21:55, 29 July 2011 (PDT)
I've started it now. The film is Template:W, my current favorite. Let's keep going. Shane Alvarado 13:06, 2 August 2011 (PDT)
Okay, it's been over a month now, and no activity. I don't have much time to get something like this done, and when I do have time, I always forget about it completely. I'll try to get something done soon. My current goal is to make one for Back to the Future. Shane Alvarado 15:46, 18 September 2011 (PDT)
It's here now. Template is here. With nobody contributing, I feel like I'm just talking to myself here. Shane Alvarado 16:16, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

I need some opinions here. I thinking I should scrap the project and have these deleted. Nobody seems interested right now and the two I've made are going unused. Thoughts, please. Shane Alvarado 23:37, 10 October 2011 (PDT)

Some of my userboxes

I made some userboxes some time ago, but I don't know where to put them.

Steam tray.png This user dreams of making their own games.
YouTube Icon.png This user has a YouTube channel, but doesn't want you to find it too easily.

Can anybody help me figure out where to put them? and by the way, the youtube one is dynamic. - Zerukin 21:37, 18 August 2011 (PDT)

Sorry that you had to wait so long for a response. Aren't they both technically dynamic? They should probably go in the 'Dynamic' subsection of the 'Personal' section. However, I can never be too sure about things like this, so just regard it as advice rather than a definitive answer. Good job, by the way. Shane Alvarado 13:57, 23 August 2011 (PDT)
I've slung them both into the Personal/Dynamic section. Good work, by the way - I can't believe no-one's thought of making a YouTube one before now! » Cooper Kid (blether·contreebs) 14:11, 23 August 2011 (PDT)

new Achievement userboxes

should someone make some userboxes for the new Australian Christmas achieves and items? • RedXM TC 21:14, 15 December 2011 (PST)

Problem with user boxes?

When I put in my user boxes they end up in a staircase shape even though when i wrote in the parameters they were all on a row. Also when I use the User box that lets me put in the quality then item it shows up as {{{1}}} instead of the user box. Defender? DE-FEN-DOR! 16:11, 17 December 2011 (PST)

I know I've already replied on your talk page, but I'll stick the Userbox help page here again just in case anyone else has the same problem.
If a dynamic userbox (i.e. one that uses parameters) displays a {{{1}}} anywhere, it usually means that you've made a mistake with one of the parameters. Double-check spelling, capital letters, and the documentation page for the userbox to ensure that you're using it properly. The same goes for any userbox which doesn't behave as it should; for example, one of the userboxes on your user page isn't displaying an image - this is simply because you spelled "Cloak and dagger" without a capital "D" in "Dagger". Even the tiniest mistakes can make a difference. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 04:36, 18 December 2011 (PST)
