Image from the front
I propose that we keep the image where the item can be seen from the front. Not only does it kinda look weird in the infobox, furthermore, of the 3 infobox images all 3 now show the back view (main image, team colored image, backpack icon). — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 16:49, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- That tends to happen with cape items. Caped Crusader, Horsemann's Hand-Me-Down, and Scoped Spartan also do it. Workshop thumbnail shows the front view so you get the idea of what it looks like from thefront. I don't think it's a big deal but I don't really have a strong preference either way. Front view or Back view both work imo. Mediarch

- I'd argue that for these kinds of cases we can do something similar to Service Satchel where we just have an image from the front too. All 3 of the listed items actually don't have Workshop thumbnails that show it from the front.
- Caped Crusader has 8 images showing it from the back (2 in the team colours section of the infobox, 2 in the styles template, the main infobox image, the backpack icon, the Workshop thumbnail, and the blog announcement image) and only one small image that shows it from the front (the blog announcement image) which doesn't show it off very well. Horsemann's Hand-Me-Down has 5 images showing it from the back (2 in the team colours section of the infobox, the main infobox image, the backpack icon, and the Workshop thumbnail) and only one from the front that's barely visible and contains other cosmetic items too. Scoped Spartan has 5 images showing it from the back (2 in the team colours section of the infobox, the main infobox image, the backpack icon, and the Workshop thumbnail). The Vanishing Act is the only one that's actually got a Workshop thumbnail showing the front.
- Aside from those points, I think that we shouldn't rely on a promotional image from the Workshop to show it off (they are .jpgs and have to be a certain size IIRC so they are limited in quality). Especially when the Horsemann's Hand-Me-Down's image has a red filter over it and says 'OLD VERSION'.

- How about an image similar to the Foul Cowl's? – BrazilianNut (Talk) 19:55, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- I think it is good as it is.

- A front view image is enough, I made it face the back as it's a cape. Although BrazillianNut's suggestion is good also, I may replace the image with that and see what people think.

- I've replace the image with a side view. Please let me know if this is enough.

I think the back view is fine, just an additional image on all these pages showing the front view is what it needs more than a half view of both. I often use these images when translating and a description feels vague/unfamiliar, having no image of the front would mean I'd have to open HLMV.

- We could keep the current version and re-upload the second version as a new file to display it from the back. – BrazilianNut (Talk) 20:40, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- At this point we should just make a 3d view of all the capes. Then there trully wont be any confusion. Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 20:45, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
- We should use the image from the back as the main infobox image (showing off the main part of the cosmetic item) and the original image (from the front) in the gallery.
