More Damage?

I believe they might have increased the base damage of the revolver, it used to do 120 damage on a crit, but just today I've done 132 damage on a crit. TheDude 08:46, 12 February 2012 (PST)

Just tested after a few minute, still 120 damage on crit shot from Big Kill and Revolver. Hinaomi Killicon unarmed combat.png 09:36, 12 February 2012 (PST)

That's weird, because I fired 3 shots at a heavy during humiliation, and each did 132 damage, then I during the next humiliation, the damage returned to 120. TheDude 12:26, 13 February 2012 (PST)

thats an extra 10% damage. but heavy has no items that give him a bullet vulnerability, so the only way that's possible is through randomizer(pain train or gas jockey set), or some other server mod. Isildur4 21:09, 11 December 2012 (PST)

Pictures

In case anyone doesn't know or can fix this, some of the pictures and the 3D model are broken (won't load.) Not a very big problem, but it really sticks out like a sore thumb. LivingMutiny 11:34, 22 November 2012 (PST)

Demonstration

I have an unofficial demonstration of the revolver where it uses it's current c_animations, anyone interested? The preceding unsigned comment was added by LawrenceHellsing (talk) • (contribs)

Are these 2 patches supposed to have the same content?

Outdated Animations

Returning to the same point as I did at least 4 years ago, the animations for the revolver as seen in the demonstration video, especially the positioning of the arm, are now no longer accurate to the game. I've created an updated demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJXp92w8LyY The preceding unsigned comment was added by LzChase (talk) • (contribs) 14:58 CET 25-3-2020

1. Sign your comments with ~~~~.
2. I think animations are not a good enough reason to redo a demonstration video.
3. Demonstration videos go here. Add =={{icon item|Revolver|16px}} [[Revolver]]== to the weapons section.

Sound effect trivia

Wanted to add trivia about the revolver using a shotgun firing sound for its firing sound despite being a revolver, figured it would be interesting enough and it didn't violate any trivia guidelines. Also because the Meet the Spy page notes a similar thing:

  • When the Soldier kills the BLU Spy, the Shotgun he uses makes the same firing sound the Spy's Revolver does, rather than the stock Shotgun firing sound.

Currently I've written this as a draft:

  • Despite being a revolver, the weapon uses shotgun firing sounds for its firing sound.

The original sound effect is EXTERIOR SHOTS, SHOTGUN - 12 GAUGE MOSSBERG SHOTGUN - SET C KABOOM WITH TRAIL 01 from Sound Ideas, same as most other TF2 sound effects, and the source is a surprisingly comprehensive SFX wiki. I'm wondering how to even cite this thing, or if it would do well without a citation (just listing the original sound effect name as a tooltip, perhaps? Or if it's even interesting enough to put in the article to begin with.

Or maybe I can just write the following?

  • Despite being a revolver, the weapon makes firing sounds similar to a shotgun.

I don't know. Need help. Snaxxtrickster (talk) 11:24, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

I personally think this isn't really noteworthy. Plenty of sounds get used for different things, famously the Natascha sound for a forklift. BLU Wiki Cap.png | s | GrampaSwood Praise the Sun! (talk) (contribs) 22:35, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
