:Hello and welcome to the Wiki. It's always good to see new people editing here. The Wiki does not have a "hazing process," though you have to bear in mind the risk that your edits will be reverted. I've looked over some of your edits, and you're right about changes like "Sayings and Phrases." However, looking over the history of the Engineer references page shows that you've made multiple small edits in quick succession, rather than making multiple changes in a single edit. For that, I would request that you make use of the "show preview" button, as to prevent the Recent changes page from getting clogged up. My advice would be to keep editing, and to not take anything done here personally. If you find yourself frustrated by a change someone has made, you're free to go to the Wiki IRC and ask for others' thoughts on a specific change, and why it may have been made. Please feel free to ask me or any other staff member any Wiki questions on your mind. -- [[User:En_Ex|En Ex]]  ([[User_talk:En_Ex|talk]]) 00:27, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

About the Wiki Cap

Yes, I know this is the question you didn't wanted to hear. About the wiki cap, I just have a question about one of the criterias. I believe 400 edits is good, that 2 months is a good idea, but... "Participate in the community by contributing to discussion". I tried going to the IRC chat, and I even said Hello, but no one answered. they were too busy filling the chat with names of TF2 wiki pages.

Now the question comes: Is that criteria completely obligatory and uberimportant? Thanks, --Healing Patofan Pew pew! 15:02, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

The IRC chat has a bot that details all recent changes, this is likely what was "filling the chat". With the recent influx in members, a lot of us have been very busy and haven't been chatting in IRC as much as usual. With regards to the "rule", IRC is NOT a requirement, making helpful posts on talk pages would suffice. Nevertheless, to answer your question, that rule is not necessarily a requirement, making a bunch of helpful edits and the like is enough. The reason that statement is there is that if you make a bunch of edits but never talk, we may never know what you're doing! --Firestorm 18:23, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, then that was it! Thanks for the info. now all I need to know is that I should get there sometimes, when I have spare time :P Well, now that I can, and If you have some spare time, could you see any o the articles I translated, to see if they are OK in wiki stile and etc?
You can see them in my userpage. I has them in the proyects tab. Thanks, --Healing Patofan Pew pew! 22:07, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
No problem. I looked through your translations and they seem great! I don't speak spanish so I can't tell if the translation itself is correct, but the layout is good and the links are working properly. Please remember to use the "Show Preview" button when posting on talk pages to ensure that your comments are tabbed correctly --Firestorm 22:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I just noticed, when I needed to edit the message 4 times to make it fit properly :P Well, thanks for all the info. EDIT: I want to ask you another thing. When I try to check my edit count, It redirects me to a quite strange error page. It also happens with all of the edit links I tried. Wiki problem or my computer problem? RE-EDIT: Oh, I see that the edit count is there, but is almost hided. Well, thanks anyway --Healing Patofan Pew pew! 22:25, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
You can also find your edit count by clicking on "My Preferences" in the top right --Firestorm 22:26, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Userbox Big Boss

I wanted to suggest you two userboxes I just made (because I know you're the Big boss of User Box), and I'm trying to start makink some (because I'm a box addict) to complete userbox. So there:

I know the second one needs a bit more work I'll do another image for tomorrow. I may suggest you more soon too :D. Tturbo 04:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Neither of those apply to me. Also, why does "Spy the Old Way" include an Ambassador? --Firestorm 06:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
I know those don't apply to you, it's just that I've been told to show them to you so you can choose the one you like for the Userbox page. And the Old Way may not be the Oldest way possible, because now you have L'étranger and the Eternal Reward as spying tools. Tturbo 13:49, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see what you mean! The thing is, the userboxes page is getting a bit bloated now with one-use userboxes. If you find other people who would be willing to use those, then it would be better to put the on that page. --Firestorm 15:21, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Now you'll have to top rate like a boss (as always) on saturday! If you don't, you won't be worthy of my veneration anymore! Tturbo 03:10, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

New to the wiki

Hi I am new to the wiki can you show me around and how to do cool tricks like you? Octaytse 04:27, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello there! All my delightful fancy tricks are done through the use of Wikicode. A cheatsheet of wiki code can be found Here and a full listing of the wiki markup can be found Here. For things to do and places to see, the Tasklist has stubs to fill out and ToDo lists to work on. Also, join us in IRC to ask questions and make suggestions. Thanks for your interest! --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 05:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I didn't even know about that "cheat sheet" maybe we should get a link on the editing page or something? --Consealed 05:37, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
There is a link to it in the Help section of the Wiki. Click the "Help" button in the left sidebar. Also, please sign your comments with ~~~~ and tab your posts over with colons one more than the person above you. --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 05:39, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I always forget that. >< And thanks! Consealed 05:40, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Yoo ur Bot can do something for the Dutch/Netherlands

U asked there: User_talk:Hefaistus and i answer you know, because i don't know how to use and control your bot and don't want to make chaos.

ALL /nl wiki entries must be corrected IF Melee or Handwapen/s is written there The word which must be used instead of the both above is: Slagwapen

Hope u can do that for me and you get cookies ^^

NoWhereMan 20:06, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

OK, I'll get started on that now. Let's hope it works! --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 23:12, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Demoman <- this article has Melee in it, and i said that melee and handwapen should be renamed as slagwapen, hope u could fix that. I know that it is not correctly translated yes and stuff but could u just fix it, because if you could correct it know the problem with handwapens/melee will hopefully not occur again on nl pages.(and yes i don't know how to use the bot i will come into the irc if i want to know that but dont have so many time atm) NoWhereMan 15:49, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I had posted on the other talk page that I had only done a couple to make sure they were done correctly. I've completed the changes, please check to make sure that they are correct here. I noticed a lot of untranslated pages as I went, can I expect that these will be translated soon? --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 16:42, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm not familiar with this language i'm just learning it and both languages german and nl are almost the same, but there are many differences so let me tell you this: I didn't submited untranslated articles and we can just hope that the articles will be translated completly by the guy who submited them. If not, the only option is to auto delete article if nothing changes after XX Days, but i don't know how to do this. NoWhereMan 17:39, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll talk it over with the other staff, we don't want too many untranslated articles as that can cause confusion. Red links are a good way to tell what articles have not been translated at all. With regards to the bot, it isn't something that regular users can use, so don't worry about it. --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 18:16, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Okay!

You got it. Why do you need to get in contact with the Deadworkers though? Any reason WHY it was deleted, anyway? I'm friends with several of the hosts on Steam. I could try asking them about it, too. PositiveJosh 18:10, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

We had problems when the page was last put up. Would you mind adding me on Steam, I would like to get into contact with some of the hosts/leaders. --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 18:14, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Sure, I'll be happy to when I get back to the dorm today. PositiveJosh 18:21, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll be in contact --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 18:23, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

You might not be able to use it for the match today due to the quick switch bug, sorry. :( -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 13:09, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

I have a question about this Wiki

I'm a new member, and I'm trying to make useful contributions, but I find that 90% of my edits are reverted, even when my edits were justified or correct. I've added sections to trivia pages that I've come back to find missing (for example, I added a "Rio Grind" reference trivia under the "Places" section on the Engineer List of References page, detailing its reference to Rio Grande and its significance to the Engineer, which has been subsequently deleted. I deleted a section from the very same List of References page for being inaccurate, and even explained its removal on the discussion page, only to find it there again today. If the information is WRONG, why is it being put back?!? I'm also a grammarian, and I've made a lot of improvements to improper syntax and grammar throughout the Wiki, and have found a lot of these reverted, as well-- even things that were blatantly wrong, where style was no question! i.e. I fixed a heading that said "Saying and Phrases" and made it say "Sayings and Phrases"; to me, this is an obvious error which I fixed. So why in the WORLD was it reverted?

Is this some cruel Wiki-initiation hazing period? I would very much like to know why this might be happening, and would appreciate some advice in fixing it. GenericCola 00:17, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
