This is a new article
I'm sure a lot of people in the community want to know more about Casual Mode ESPECIALLY THE RANKS which is why I think this article should be created. It's modeled after the Competitive Mode article. Unfortunately I can't finish it in one night but it will be finished tomorrow which means I probably shouldn't have made it just yet. NOT RANKS >(
Ranks only in Competitive Mode, not in Casual mode
Levels then
Can someone use the HLMV and get pictures of the badges? The shape of the badges change every five levels and the color changes every twenty five levels. One star is added every level until the shape changes. It would be great if the badges were put on an official source like the TF2 Wiki as soon as possible, but I guess I'll do it eventually. How much "XP" do you get for...
Is there a list somewhere that tells you how much XP you get for kills/objectives with different classes? Magicalpony (talk) 05:41, 2 August 2016 (PDT)
Do we really need images for each levels?
That table would be too high if you upload all images. 1-1 image for each color, each star, and each style (bullets) wouldn't be enoguh in a gallery? We should bisect the table: lvl | needed | owned | tier | lvl | needed | owned | tier, so that it'd be much smaller. Klenium (talk) 05:42, 15 August 2016 (PDT)
- The page is still in construction, especially since I think the icons are not in the vpk. Though your objection is valid of course. I'd suggest to do "Civilian" as a whole and then just the highest for each successive grade, resulting in 30 total. To shorten that even more we could leave <5 stars out for Civilian, so the remaining levels would be: 1-5,10,15,20,25,50,75,100,125,150 or 14 total.— shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 06:39, 15 August 2016 (PDT)
- The directory I got from https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/4s44u6/ever_wanted_to_know_how_all_the_casual_mode/. The creator of the post was one of the first people to post pictures of the level badges and I think pretty much every picture on the internet of the badges comes from that post. Missing stuff
This could use a description of the post-match screen with the map votes.
Also maybe someone could collapse the badges table because it takes a lot of space, vertically. ⇒ Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 14:39, 27 August 2017 (PDT)

Old badges?
So... I ended up seeing this old revision from File:Main menu.png, and apparently there was a badge design based on Jungle's Inferno Mercenary Park (map) "logo". Were these old/beta badges? Should they be added in the page, just like how it's on Competitive Mode#Gallery? - ▪ - 12:10, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- It was during Jungle Inferno, anyone who had the contract pass got that badge. Same with invasion, tough break, and gun mettle but those were only on the scoreboard IIRC.
GrampaSwood (talk) 12:12, 27 November 2020 (UTC)- Oh, okay, thanks for clarifying. Should they be added in some page, perhaps on their respective Campaign pages? I don't think these are really needed, though. - ▪ - 12:15, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- I think it would be cool to add "Casual badges during the Jungle Inferno campaign" or something similar.

DST ban bug
Today players started receiving matchmaking bans for casual and mvm that seemed to coincide with DST as the "banwave" appeared to only last for ~1 hour. Bans were also all issued with a "0 minute cooldown" with the time remaining always under 1 hour which suggests a bug to me. Here's a github issue someone made about it too. Wondering if this warrants a paragraph/note and if confirmation of being a DST bug is needed. Anyone know if it happened last year? Jh34ghu43gu (talk) 10:07, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- To me it seems likely it's just an accidental reactivation of the old ban system, don't think it'll have anything to do with DST.
GrampaSwood (talk) 11:56, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Someone seems to have confirmed it was DST as they were able to get a replicated ban by changing their system time to 8-9 UTC even after the bans stopped for everyone else. Jh34ghu43gu (talk) 02:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
sv_pure 1 is not what makes casual so strict
The difference between sv_pure 2, 1, 0, and -1 is what files are forced upon the client, and how they're chosen. 2 and -1 simply enforce all and none files respectively, but 1 and 0 enforce files based on a whitelist and blacklist respectively. TF2 Casual isn't as strict as people think just because of sv_pure 1, it's actually because Valve Matchmaking servers have a very strict whitelist. Redvoltron (talk) 18:25, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Maybe I've missed it, but where does this article say Casual is strict?
