Retire of Wikichievement
I think the "Lagg Pleaser" Wikichievement should be retired, considering said User does not edit anymore and has even been blocked by his own request. Maybe a new section for "retired wikichievements" should be made so it can still be seen somewhere.

- Others suggested that too, the issue is that I mostly undo edits that break policy. A Wikichievement for not breaking policy seems kind of weird to me.

- It should be fine to retire the Wikiachievement, but we won't be substituting it with another user's name or anything else.
- If you have ideas for new Wikiachievements, please open a new discussion similar to the ones above. — Tark 16:06, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Wikicheivment milestones
The milestone will be earned if the user unlocks a certain number of Wikichievments. Good idea?

- Seeing as the Wikichievements are not automated, I don't think these would be a very good idea. There's not much involved in milestones either, in-game they're associated with an item drop, but on the Wiki at most it would be a glorified counter.

How about this? I feel like it could work well. Plutonium (talk) (contributions)
- That's just Quick Draw basically. "Moderate the Recent Changes queue and quickly revert vandalism and low-quality edits" Mediarch

- But specifically for vandalism. Plutonium (talk) (contributions)
- Tirelessly fighting vandalism Plutonium. (talk) (contributions)
- Like Mediarch said, this is pretty much Quick Draw. Wikichievements ideally shouldn't be given out for doing something once or twice, the Quick Draw wikichievement is exactly what this is used for.

[SUGGESTION] Sun Tzu Reborn

Sun Tzu Reborn |
Pretty self-explanatory. Currently there are a lot of missing strategy articles, this Wikichievement would serve as both an incentive as well as a reward to let those who work on it know their work is valued. Similar to other Wikichievements like Photo Bomb, Team Fortress, Too, The Trivial Inquisition, Audiophile, Parlez-Vous Français?, etc. this is a Wikichievement geared towards a specific section of the Wiki.

- I like it. Map strategy is valued but there isn't really any form of recognition for it at the moment so this could help encourage those who contribute to the strategy section to keep it up. Sun Tzu's got nothing on us! Mediarch

- Was thinking about the name after Gabrielwoj's edit. What yall think about Taka no Dan? In japanese that means Band of the Falcon, Griffith's army in Berserk manga. For those who are not in the context, his army has never lost or retreated in battle, all because of Griffith's tactics and strategy. Liverfull

Nope Already covered by Credit to Team. — Tark 17:05, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- I got to disagree with Tark here. Contributing to the strategy section has nothing to do with collaborating with other users on a project. If I add a bunch of map strategies I'm not really collaborating with anyone. Credit to team is for those who work together on something. Mediarch

Pro I like this idea a lot, it would encourage people to making/improving them because most if not nearly all of them need it. It may have some overlap with Credit to Team but others achievement like "Distinguished Editor" and "Team Fortress, Too" are in effect just achievements for more desired edits too so another couldn't hurt.

Support. Good idea indeed. I have previously contributed to strategy pages in the past (weapon combinations for a couple classes, VSH hints, ctf_crasher hints, and some other random maps), but I have noticed how severely lacking they are, and they are often forgotten, or not even created in the first places (red links).

- The name is a reference to a Hearts of Iron IV achievement in which you have to train a general to level 9 (level 10 is the maximum) when playing as a Chinese nation. I don't think the name matters as much, but the idea was veto'd regardless for being too similar to Credit to Team.

- How was the idea vetoed, it has overwhelming support I'd say? Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 23:34, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
- It's too similar to 'Credit to Team', which can be given to anyone for working on a project (so that would include the Strategy project). If everyone supported a Wikichievement proposal for one about uploading a lot of images, it can still be veto'd because there is already a very similar (or in that case, identical) Wikichievement.

- I disagree with, for me, 'Credit to Team' always felt like you talked with another user on the Wiki, and split a project into two, or more people (let's say, an update drops, and I split the paint variants table with two other people, one starts from Scout to Spy, and the other from Spy to Scout, until both "end" at the middle). The strategy pages are already there to be filled, and wouldn't require you to really talk to another user to start contributing. Within that said, basically every contribution on the Wiki is, to some degree, a 'Credit to Team'. You could apply the same logic to the 'Weapon Demonstration' or '3D Wizard', since you are also contributing with other members of the Wiki on the same project.

- I also disagree that it's too similar. The argument simply doesn't make sense. If I make 1000 map strategy edits and never talk to anybody about it how am I "Collaborating with other users" on a project? Yes, I am contributing to a project but contributing and collaborating are completely different things. The argument doesn't seem to hold up to basic scrutiny. If everyone seemingly disagrees with it then why are we following it? There's a point where we should consider disregarding the one dissenting opinion. Mediarch

Support It is only fair that "strategists" are rewarded for their hard work, considering that contributing to strategy doesn't really fall under any of the existing achievements. It might finally motivate people to contribute to the map strategies, which might just be the most neglected pages on the entire wiki. Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 20:05, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
