Smissmas 2024 effects
Hey Boba I know you are probably busy with life and all, but the summer update is coming up in about 2-4 months and the Unusual effect renders from Smissmas 2024 have not been covered yet.--ShadowMan44 (talk) 22:09, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've already created two of them, Sizzling and Aurora Skies but I couldn't do most of them because Source Filmmaker was being a pain.

- I'll get to it soon-ish. Been dealing with other things. ~ Boba 21:58, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Looks like someone got to it already. Neat! ~ Boba 00:31, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

I completely missed the fact that you also helped bring the current overview template into fruition all those years ago (besides just Wookipan as I'd originally assume). As such, it is only fair I present you this, even if it comes a bit late. I know that not much has come from the project, but I promise that I am working hard into adding the template to all official maps, thus finally finishing what I had originally started that fateful march of 2021. Other then that, I also wish that you return back to the wiki. Your work, especially regarding unusual images, is immensely precious and your absence has caused quite a hiccup. Take well! - Thank you! I was wondering what was going to happen with this :) ~ Boba 00:23, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
Userpage styling
How is your userpage so neat? Beautiful userpage. Mycatismycat (talk) 06:26, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- I think you can still ask a staff member for custom userpage CSS. ~ Boba 22:12, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
Sheens
Do you think it would be "easy" to record GIFs? I think they'd showcase the sheens better. — Tark 20:12, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- The way I redid them yesterday actually exports them as a perfect set of 60 images, so I could indeed compile those into a proper GIF/video! However, it's worth noting that I've had to take a lot of liberties with the way they are done right now--SFM does not support Sheen passes, which are handled similarly (but not quite) to envmaps. In a nutshell, no matter what, they are not going to perfectly reflect how they look in-game. I am already currently looking into manually brightening the colors a bit and re-rendering, because while the raw colors I extracted are correct, they do not match up in SFM when compared to how they look in-game.
- Also, the GIF format sucks and I worry about losing color fidelity as they're 1080p images. As I mentioned on IRC, I might look into HLMV++ as an alternative to all of the Unusual, Sheen, and Killstreaker images, so everything being done right now is being done with the pretense of "it's probably fine for the time being". That wouldn't be an anytime soon kind of deal, though. Probably. If you have any thoughts, let me know. ~ Boba 20:26, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
'spacing out content edits and editing individual sections doesn't constitute a "show preview" notice, silly goose'
Hi there,
This kind of editing makes it difficult to correct your edits. Minor formatting changes have to be made to your edits, but this is hard to do when making several edits rather than condensing them into one (which is not a request, mind you, but mandatory). It also makes it much harder to review your edits or look through the edit history in the future as instead of looking through one big edit it has to be done through several edits instead. This does constitute a show preview notice, and it would be appreciated if you aren't condescending towards others :) | s | GrampaSwood

- I'll keep this in mind, thanks. The edits are not difficult to compare when you can still easily select a range of them. I was already using the "show preview" button, but I do not see where that would have applied as I was chunking down edits (or editing sections directly, which tunnel-visions the editor). Also, I'd appreciate and expect the same out of you. ~ Boba 20:57, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
