It's Craftable

I've seen a person craft it from a soldier token, melee token, and a scrap metal. Though I've tried three times and each time I got a paintrain.--Jordan 04:27, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

That could be a joke --DrNightKOT
No, it's here: http://www.tf2items.com/crafting/blueprints.php
It's for the Demoman too. --Firestorm 04:45, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
I was in the server when he crafted it and he subsequently killed me with it. Also I said Soldier as that's what we were all doing as it gives you a greater chance because there are only three Soldier melee weapons while there are four for the Demoman. I would assume you can craft it with a Demoman token too. Here's his backpack. [1]b--Jordan 05:02, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
So should we remove the bit where it says it can't be crafted? Also, does anyone know why it can't be traded? It might be because it could be an achievement item for The Sacrifice, similar to the Alien Swarm Parasite (just a guess, anyway). Randomscripter 20:32, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm guissing it's related to L4D2 as well but that doesn't really explain why it's untradable as both the Alien Swarm Parasite and Bill's hat are tradable.--Jordan 11:13, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
I traded for one. --Flying Pyro 19:36, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

How to Obtain It Properly

The Left 4 Dead 2 blog revealed today how to get both the Frying Pan and Ellis' Cap. I've gone ahead and filled in the appropriate information on each page CaptMurasa 19:17, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

When can I obtain it?

I didn't understand when exactly am i going to get the hat and the weapon? --- User Mitko1239 Soldiertinpan.png Mitko1239 (Talk page) --- 20:15, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Purchase L4D2 before tomorrow. If you already own it, you'll already be getting the hat. -RJ 20:16, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I have L4D2.Can I just join a server and get them or it's too early? User Mitko1239 Soldiertinpan.png Mitko1239 (Talk page) 20:17, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I have owned l4d2 since it came out, I even pre-ordered it about a month or 2 before it was even out. I have gotten elies hat or the frying pan at all....
They just take a while. According to tf2items I received mine today. --Jordan 12:55, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
You can apparently still obtain them by buying L4D2. Squidfeeder 19:33, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Trivia Section

The trivia section states, "This is one of 8 items available through the purchase of another game, the others being the Big Kill, the Lugermorph, Bill's Hat, the Alien Swarm Parasite, the Lumbricus Lid, Max's Severed Head, and Ellis' Cap." However, the alien swarm parasite is is not obtainable through the purchase of another game. Should the wording be changed or the parasite be removed from the list altogether? Nequissime 02:40, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

The trivia has a error. Alien swarm is a free game and not exactly purchased. Additionally you need to get a achievement.

Useable by every class?

"[...]these items know no class, color, weight or gender. They work for all peoples." quote from blog

Is it just the hat or is the blog post misleading? --Schenkd 09:32, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Bottle Taunt as a bug?

This is intended as a joke (according to i-ghost), so should it be listed as a bug? I see it sort of like listing Spycrab as a bug Balladofwindfishes 10:42, 22 August 2011 (PDT)

If it's intended then it isn't a bug.  – User Heffebaycay stslogo.png Cructo [T][C] 10:44, 22 August 2011 (PDT)
Drinking my splinter alcopop Pain Train was a better joke. Just sayin'.--Focusknock 14:15, 22 August 2011 (PDT)

The cooking surface

The cooking surface has *patches* of grease, not a *film* of grease. Film implies uniform distribution, while we can see that the model actually has the grease in random places. Shall i go ahead and edit it? Doomgiver 09:30, 4 November 2011 (PDT)

Randomly Drops (What!?)

TF2 stats is showing a nice percentage (1% to be exact) of Frying Pans are from random drops. Generally the distribution tag and TF2 Stats data is pretty accurate, so... uhhh... the Pan drops now? Unlike the Sticky and Rocket jumper, I'm going to hold off on making any changes to the page, but I guess it's something to keep in mind and if someone sees one drop, by all means edit it in (the change would have been made on monday of last week). Actually, looking at it, the Ellis's Cap shows signs of timed drop also. I assume if one was made droppable the other would be. Balladofwindfishes 06:03, 2 April 2012 (PDT)

Client View Image

I think those image should change because lighting doesn't match as another page. Also demoman and soldier client view was change. Killicon black rose.png Hinaomi 21:21, 3 May 2012 (PDT)

Clipping

I've noticed that now it's for other classes, it can clip on quite a few of their hats. Should this be added to bugs? Aslandier 22:34, 3 May 2012 (PDT)

Pictogram nope.png Nope.avi Clipping Bug is common bug, no need to note anymore. Killicon black rose.png Hinaomi 23:49, 3 May 2012 (PDT)

Weapon Demonstration Might Need To Be Redone

Since it got updated to be used for almost all classes, shouldn't the Weapon Demonstration need to be redone to show all the classes except Engineer and Spy instead?--Iamgoofball 22:33, 3 May 2012 (PDT)

Soldier Taunt

I noticed that when Soldier taunts with this weapon, his hand is not in the correct position and it clips through the round part of the pan. He also smashes his head with it sideways instead of hitting himself with the flat part of the pan. Yuurg 04:23, 2 June 2012 (PDT)

Clipping Issue is not notable. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi 06:32, 2 June 2012 (PDT)

Heavy Taunt

Should it be noted that, well, there isn't one? I'm not sure if its counted as a bug, but its just odd that this only happens with the Heavy. Arcdash (talk) 14:07, 15 November 2013 (PST)

Pretty sure it's not notable. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 14:46, 15 November 2013 (PST)

Golden Pan

Today's update added a Golden Frying Pan. I'm not sure how it's obtained or if it functions differently than the regular Pan. I saw it at the end of the Mann Co. Catalog while looking for Australium weapons, but this was the only thing I saw. Platitudinous (talk) 17:56, 21 November 2013 (PST)
