Reskins are weapons that differ in their visual appearance, yet share the same stats and functions of pre-existing weapons. Though many unofficial reskins exist, the table below is a list of all official reskins in the game.

Most re-skins of weapons are promotional, purchased or special items. Promotional items such as the Big Kill that was a re-skin of the revolver or a Special item such as the Golden Wrench which was a re-skin of the Wrench with the only difference being that player turned to gold after being hit by the Golden Wrench. Their are even some re-skins such as the Nessie's Nine Iron which is a re-skin of the Eyelander but Nessie's Nine Iron isn't craftable. It may appear re-skins are pointless but Team Fortress 2 being a game all about cosmetics these re-skins can be quite valuable.

Trivia

  • It was stated in an early press release that the Sun-on-a-Stick and Sharpened Volcano Fragment were going to be reskins for the Boston Basher and Axtinguisher, respectively.[1]
  • The Lugermorph was initially only able to be equipped by the Scout, despite being a reskin for the Pistol, which can also be used by the Engineer. It was not until the July 1, 2010 Patch that this was fixed, and the Engineer was granted the ability to use the weapon.
