Hello, TubidubidamPL!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:TubidubidamPL/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Takie tam

Welcome to the Polish section of the TF2 Wiki. About your recent edits - you don't need to write down on your userpage every contribution you made, espacially right after each edit. Everyone can see your edits without that, and it's just plain spamming. Oh, and be sure to check this page. Cheers! Userimg-real alien.jpg real_alien (T/C) 04:21, 29 January 2012 (PST)

Missing Polish Translations

Hello. There is no need to remove pages from the Team Fortress Wiki:Reports/Missing translations/pl list. A bot will update it automatically every once in a whle, and will also update the reamining pages count.  –  Epic Eric (T | C) 08:42, 29 January 2012 (PST)

yo

Could you add into this article: Team/pl this: {{main|Classes/pl|l1=Klasy}} atm you link only to the english wiki article. also you could change Klasy into the plural word for classes in pl, thanks. Just thought you may not know that. TheDoctor 16:24, 2 February 2012 (PST)

Disambiguations

Hi there, please note that disambiguations (like Breath/pl) shouldn't be translated in general as the items listed there don't have a similar name. It's okay to translate the really blurry disambs like "Shoes", "Jacket" and so on, though. { TidB | t | c | wt } 06:36, 15 September 2014 (PDT)

Translation

Hi there, I just fixed your edit:

  1. You don't have to use {{DISPLAYTITLE}} on item pages (it would be overridden by the infobox, anyway).
  2. I recommend to not rely on redirects like Snajper. As far as I know, this makes the page load slower.
  3. Use en-sound=yes in the {{Quotation}} template to make visible the sound is English.

Unofficial translations

I know we had a discussion on that in the IRC earlier, but to make this clear: It's not allowed to add unofficially translated names and descriptions. Only add them to the dictionary or put them in an article when they're at least approved on the STS (though applied is better). And even if a name is likely to be translated in an expected way... we don't care about this; the same goes for statements of "official guys". While it's not STS, it's not official. I know that you said STS translators sometimes get inspired by the wiki's translation, but you can, if you have your own translation, just join the STS or communicate with its members directly, post suggestions on the Steam forums and things like this.
So, I hope this topic is clear for now, have a good day~

After reading your conversation with Nikno on the IRC, there's not really anything I could add to my message above. I'm not saying I'm not believing you, but when a Polish STS moderator says those names are going to be in the game, why hasn't he approved them then? This looks suspicious for me. And no, I'm not "putting rules over logic". We're the official wiki and we therefore use only official names which are at least approved on the STS. And as long as I can't see the names approved or applied, they're not counted as official.
I've mentioned the solution multiple times: Wait. Just wait till it's getting approved/applied, and everyone's happy. And I don't care if the names you added are going to be the official ones. As long as they're not official, don't add them. But I just keep repeating myself.
As always, you can respond here or have another discussion with me on the IRC. { TidB | t | c | wt } 06:26, 1 October 2014 (PDT)
