I remember there was a user posting an idea on the Steam Fourms about an "Energy Drink that cause the Scout to dodge damage and bullets" before the Scout Update. The only difference between the user submitted one and the in-game one is that it caused "the scout to pass out for a few seconds". Danton 05:15, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

i beleive that it is possible to use bonk during humiliation to give invunerability this is probably a bug but it could still go in trivia Roboglob 07:07, 18 October 2010 (UTC) ```

Taunt kill

While under the influence of bonk you can use the sandman's taunt kill.

As a crafting ingredient

Bonk is also the crafting ingredient when doing Dalokoh's bar (with the Sandvich) I dont know how to edit the page with pics, so one of you should do it. :) - Setlet

Ammunition Help

I honestly can't figure out what's up with me. The ammunition carried for this should be "∞", as I copied from the Sandvich page (since they function similarly). However, I can't get this to show up, despite the fact I'm pretty gosh-darned sure I copy-pasted the -exact- same lines. Can someone fix it and tell me what I'm doing wrong here? --Fragment of Nothing 06:57, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, It's not loading up anything for that section. Is there something wrong with the template? Nixshadow 07:05, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
It was a item infobox which doesn't have that attribute. It's now been changed to a weapon infobox which does :p Moussekateer 07:08, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, duh. I should probably look things thoroughly Nixshadow 07:12, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh hey, thanks! I'm terrible with infoboxes (they don't make any sense to me), so I really appreciate it. ^_^ --Fragment of Nothing 07:32, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Validity of a bug entry

Is the Resupply cabinet bug listed really a bug? It'd make sense for it to cancel the effect, as it gives you the Bonk back immediately. Would see ma bit overpowered to be able to keep the effect up for essentially twice as long. Generally,if you're at the locker, you drank the Bonk to get past some spam to get to resupply. You'd want to be able to fight the guys camping the spawn. I'll leave it for now, but I don't think this is really a bug. BraveTriforcer 19:23, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I wanted to remove this bug ages ago and it was added right back in. It's not even a bug, nor is it even needed. It's kind of assumed things cancel or are given back when you touch a resupply cabinet. That's the purpose of it. Balladofwindfishes 19:59, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Removed. Anyone who wishes to contest this can take it up in here.BraveTriforcer 00:23, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
It makes sense, but still deserves a mention on this page. As this is most likely part of the weapon's design, I have added it as Trivia. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 00:39, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. BraveTriforcer 01:10, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
It seems like it would be better put somewhere in the actual article, rather than in trivia. It's not really trivia, it's more of a gameplay thing Balladofwindfishes 13:02, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

This Feature, is a Bug?

Two times is this listed as a Bug:

Being hit by Natascha, the Flamethrower's compression blast or the Force-A-Nature while drinking will interrupt the drinking process. This cancels the use, but still counts as consumption, and drains the recharge meter as such.Bonk Drink Article

I think it is a "feature", like when someone is shooting at you, you can't just drink it the normal way...without this "bug" many classes, like the heavy wouldn't have a chance to kill a scout equipped with a drink.

If I'm wrong about this please make both look the same. Killicon big kill.pngNWMBksr.PNG 03:35, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Possible Bug?

Don't know if it still exist, but I believe it is similar to the Amputators exploit that was eventually removed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpRkeVaZL_c BASEBALLFURIES 17:37, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

2016: I believe I ran into a bug with "Bonk" on 4/2/16. I was in the middle of a conflict with enemies, and I had began to do the drinking animation of Bonk. I had lagged for an estimated 3 seconds, and when I regained my frames I was in first person, but was still actively under the influence of Bonk. I found this quickly, considering I still saw the Blue speed pattern coming off of me. I believe I was still able to shoot but not take damage. It might have been a script error, but I am not experienced with scripting, nor coding. User: Ssgt.Ardan4 18:09, 4th April 2016.

A bug no longer?

"The afterburn from the Flare Gun and the Detonator cannot be dodged with the invulnerability granted from consuming Bonk! Atomic Punch, and will result in the Scout taking fire damage. This bug exists only with afterburn from the Flare Gun."

I just tested this by:

1) Direct Hit with Flare Gun

2) Direct Hit with Detonator

3) Indirect Hit with Detonator (via explosion)

All followed by the scout drinking Bonk

Thus, it should be removed from the list of bugs, if anyone can confirm this. If someone can refute this, perhaps it should be tested more?

BONK! Must be DODGING!

HELLO GUYS. I hope I get some attention here.

I have some ideas for this item to be usefull and balanced: Isn't scout DODGING? so:

The user should keep MOVING to avoid damage. use a different direction at least each second or 2 seconds. In addition, the scout shouldn't recieve knockback when doing this. Like... some people use this and stay crouched and get no damage. still, knockback. and the bplayer should also be able to pass other players without them stopping them.

If the scout isn't moving at a different direction each second, he should still recieve damage.

Recharge bug

I think the recharge bug that noted happen with all wep that can recharge, listed the wep I found the bug:
Scout : Flying Guillotine, Crit-a-Cola, Bonk! Atomic Punch, Mad milk, Sandman, Wrap Assassin
Heavy : Sandvich, Robo-Sandvich, Buffalo Steak Sandvich
Sniper : Jarate
So I want to know should I add this bug to all wep I listed or remove it from this page. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi (talk) • (contributions) 11:26, 1 October 2012 (PDT)

Why would you remove something that's a legitimate bug just because it applies to multiple weapons? Toomai Glittershine 13:09, 1 October 2012 (PDT)
I just want to ask because rechargeable weapons now have this bug, and it's too much to add in the bug section. I asked this to want to know that what the most people thinking about it that add or not. And about removed it, I said I'll added it back in 2-3 days after this discussion done. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi (talk) • (contributions) 16:44, 1 October 2012 (PDT)
Put them all in. some people don't want to look at all the other weapons just to find the bug :/ Weirdduder10 15:22, 14 October 2012 (PDT)

On Hit effects applying to a BAP Scout

FYI, Hinaomi, Valve INTENTIONALLY designed it so that most on-hit weapons with still apply the effects (such as Baby Face's Blaster) on an invincible Scout. Here's my proof: it states in one of the loading screen tips for the Medic: "As a Medic, the Ubersaw will still increase your ÜberCharge meter if the enemy being hit is a Scout phasing with Bonk! Atomic Punch.". - Pootis-Man (talk) 19:16, 25 October 2014 (PDT)

Well, some of them inflict with that reason, like Widowmaker that stated "On hit: damage dealt is returned as ammo" or the Mad Milk that stated "Players heal 60% of the damage done to an enemy covered with milk.". Bonk makes the weapons to deal 0 damage = it will not give the metal / health when attacked, but it still give. Still bug for me. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 03:19, 26 October 2014 (PDT)
I'm telling you, it's not a bug. As I already mentioned, one of the loading screen tips for the Medic entirely mentions that landing a hit on a BAP Scout with the Ubersaw will still fill up the Uber meter. If it was a bug, Valve obviously wouldn't have added that. - Pootis-Man (talk) 21:48, 12 November 2014 (PST)
I'm telling you that the on-hit effect that based on damage done should not trigger the effect. On-hit effect like Ubersaw is just "Hit the players, deal damage or not" but Mad Milk or the Widowmaker stated as "On Damage" despite Bonk makes the player to not receive the income damage for the shot time. Is it too hard to understand? User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 01:30, 13 November 2014 (PST)
You're a riot. - Pootis-Man (talk) 19:16, 13 November 2014 (PST)

Hey, Dan9er here. I just added a picture request for the Festive can labels. Can someone please add them? Thanks, Dan9er (talk) 13:01, 2 January 2015 (PST) PS. I fixed a spelling error on the page as well.

No need to post on the talk page. Just adding the request is enough as it just sorts it into a category. Ashes (talk) 13:02, 2 January 2015 (PST)
