Nightfall (Control Point) was an early prototype of Double Cross that was being developed after the release of Team Fortress 2 in 2007.
In 2010, the creator of Double Cross Iikka Keranen was interviewed by Nodraw.net about the development of his creation.[1] From this interview it became known that initially the map was developed in a Control Point mode and under a different name - Nightfall. According to him, the first prototypes of the map with a night setting and the concept of a large bridge appeared back in August 2007, and full-fledged development was sometime in October-November after the release of the game. After a while the map was abandoned, giving preference to the development of Badlands.
The layout of the map is similar to the Badlands, with the same desert environment the released maps had. The map has not passed the art passing stage, so it mainly consists of development textures.
