Should each war paint on this page also mention what grade it is?

They are sorted by case, but there is no easy to look at place that will tell the users what grade each paint comes in. The item grades are important, determining rarity and price in the trading community, and even in-game, it affects which ones are compatible for use in a Mann Co. Trade Up. Also, I am brand new to wiki editing, and this is my first time using a talk page. Please tell me whether I am actually doing this correctly or just making a mess here. --Dork Sauls 4 (talk) 05:15, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

Hmmm, I don't know much about War Paints and Grades. Does each War Paint have one grade? Then maybe the names in the galleries can be color-coded by grade, thus:
Some templating could be done to simplify the formatting, maybe a derivative of Template:tf2b.
Could also include {{Template:Decorated grade table}}.

Maybe add "<br>(Mercenary)", "<br>(Elite)" etc after the names? - BrazilianNut (talk) 20:12, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

Rename the images for the Winter 2019 Collection?

Up until the Scream Fortress X Collection, backpack icon images for the War Paints have been named like "Backpack War Paint [paint name]", but, for a reason unknown to me, the Winter 2019 Collection paints were named like "Backpack [paint name] War Paint Factory New".

While this does not affect the article in any way, shape or form (except for this one translation where they had it ready for when the images were uploaded by following the conventional naming format, only to have them be named in a different one, though that has already been fixed), it does feel kind of weird to have
File:Backpack War Paint [paint name].png
File:Backpack War Paint [paint name].png
File:Backpack War Paint [paint name].png
File:Backpack War Paint [paint name].png
File:Backpack [paint name] War Paint Factory New.png
File:Backpack [paint name] War Paint Factory New.png
File:Backpack [paint name] War Paint Factory New.png
File:Backpack [paint name] War Paint Factory New.png

Opinions? - BrazilianNut (talk) 14:26, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

I'll reupload the old ones later this week. No worries. — Tark lm(pt-br) 15:01, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Actually, scrap that. I'll just redirect "Backpack War Paint [paintkit]" to "Backpack [paintkit] War Paint Factory New", it's easier.
Just for the record, the naming convention for decorated items is "[paintkit] [item] [wear]". — Tark lm(pt-br) 20:07, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

About the application of new template

While I personally love the new design and appreciate the nice work, there are Chinese visitors who would like to use the page to search the English names by corresponding Chinese names.

To meet their needs, I used to put the names together like this:

I wonnder if there could be a solution for it. If it's not possible, perhaps I could add another section on the Chinese page for the searching? User Dereko Name.png 16:19, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Done. =)

Dereko is thanking BrazilianNut for effiectness and kindness.

Hard to identify grades

I apologize to whoever came up with this article's current design for the paints' names and grades, but it's not good; having the grade be limited to a thin line makes it hard to differentiate some grades, like Civilian and Freelance, and Mercenary and Commando.

The same happens with the style adopted in update pages; it makes it hard to both read the paints' names and differentiate Mercenary and Commando grades.

Here are some comparisons along with my suggestion.

This is how it is in this article:

Kill Covered
Bloom Buffed

While easy to read at a distance, it can be hard to tell the grades.

This is how it is in articles for updates:

Kill Covered
Bloom Buffed

There is little contrast between the text and the background, making it hard to both read at a distance and to differentiate grades in galleries.

This is my suggestion:

Kill Covered
Bloom Buffed
Plaid Potshotter Mk.II
Civil Servant Mk.II

The Strong contrast makes it easy to read at a distance, and the predominance of the grade's color makes identifying the grade a breeze.

Dereko prefers your new design as it provides more space for distinguishing color. User Dereko Name.png 07:49, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Dereko requests help with bug confirmation

The case mentioned in the latest edit under the "Bugs" section doesn't seem to happen in my backpack, may I ask someone else to have it confirmed? User Dereko Name.png 12:25, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

I recall this happening to me, however, it seems like this doesn't happen anymore. Burden of proof lies on the editor adding it, not the people reviewing it. I can't get it to trigger anymore when it happened every other inspect for me.
