Environmental Hazards
Saw Blades
Saw Blades are neutral entities found officially first on Sawmill, and appearing on numbers of custom maps. They roll inside designated path and kill anyone that comes in contact with it.
Trains
The trains are a neutral entities that kill anyone on his tracks when it passes. The arrival of a train is shown by flashing lights at each end of the track and a sound playing, which you can hear if you are close enough. The trains are officialy found on Well and Freight.
Pit Fall Death
It is different from Fall damage as there is no chance of survival, even if under the effect of an ÜberCharge. This is usually the result of falling to an area with no ground underneath.
We can find those pits on Degroot Keep, Double Cross, Gorge, Lumberyard, Mountain Lab (and subsiquently Mann Manor), Nucleus, Offblast, Steel, and Upward.
Drowning
It's possible to drown on any map with deep water on it, such as 2Fort, Well, Freight, Ravine, and Sawmill.
The character must stay underwater for a certain amount of time before he begins to suffocate. Failure to rise above water will cause him to continually lose health, until he drowns. Heath lost will slowly regenerate as soon as you reach the surface.
Pumpkin Bombs
Pumpkin bombs are special pumpkins found only on Harvest Event and Mann Manor during the Halloween Events (or on server running those 2 particular maps). Once this pumkpin receives damage (from bullets, projectiles or melee) it explodes, hurting everyone around it.
Cart Explosion
The last round of any Payload or Payload Race maps, the Cart will explode when you reach the last point, killing everyone nearby.
Note that Badwater Basin, Hightower, Pipeline and Upward are maps with only one round, so the cart will explode at soon as you reach the last point. Where Hoodoo, Gold Rush, and Thunder Mountain have 3 rounds, where the cart only explode at the last point of the last round, symbolizing BLU's victory.
Once the Payload has successfully been delivered to the final terminus, it will usual lower into the ground before exploding. This will cause all player in the surrounding area to be killed due to said explosion. Falling the the holes created will result in a Pit Fall Death.
Gate Crush
The castle gate on Degroot Keep closes after a certain amount of time if the last point isn't capture, refreshing the two first points too. If a player is standing right underneath the gate when it lowers for closing, he will be crushed and die.
