The Iron Curtain Minigun replacement and Dealer's Visor for the Heavy first shown by IGN.

On November 3rd 2010 it was revealed that Telltale's new game, Poker Night at the Inventory (featuring the Heavy Weapons Guy and several other characters from both Telltale and Penny Arcade) will unlock several different items for Team Fortress 2. The first of which is a pre-order item, the Dealer's Visor, a Heavy hat.

At other points during the game, special rounds will activate and allow players to obtain other Team Fortress 2 items, including:

It is unknown whether or not these items will have special attributes, though it is likely that they will follow suit with other promotional items and simply be cosmetic items.

Mapper's Medallion

Main article: Mapper's Medallion

The Mapper's Medallion is a special medal created by Lord Ned of TF2maps.net in order to congratulate the participants of the Art Pass contest. This medal is similar to the Polycount Pin as it will only be available to those who entered the competition. The Mapper's Medallion does not currently have a release date.

6th Polycount Pack and Unreleased Game Mode

Shortly after the release of the Polycount Pack, Valve announced that a sixth Pack (since revealed to belong to the Medic)[1] and a brand-new game mode were lined up to be released with the Polycount Pack, however they were both delayed due to the game mode being unfinished and the Pack having a direct correlation to the new game mode.[2]

ETF2L Highlander Community Challenge & ESL Medals

Eight medals are to be added to the game and given to participants and winners of the ETF2L Highlander Community Challenge and the ESL 6on6 League when the tournament ends. Currently, it has been confirmed that there are a first place, second place, third place, and participant medal that will become available.

New demo format

Robin Walker has discussed a new system for recording demos, where a player can request a recording from the server at the end of a life or round. The plan is for the format to be "More robust" so the demos will not become unplayable as easily as the current system when the game is updated.[3] Another goal is to allow people to easily share their videos on video sharing sites.[4]

Open Beta

An Open Beta is coming soon to all Team Fortress 2 owners.

Unreleased Items

Main article: Jag
Main article: Legionaire's Lid

In the Mann-Conomy Update the Engineer was the only class to not get a weapon, but a fully textured model was discovered in the GCF of the game. The Item is believed to be called the Jag from the name the file is given in the GCF. A community-contributed hat, known as the Legionaire's Lid according to the tf_english.txt file, is also in the GCF. It even has a description. The hat is currently not in-game, and it is unknown if it will be released.

Large Scale Performance Update

Robin Walker discussed with one of the community contributors in an email about a future performance update in the works, replacing all World and View models with the new C model type, and updating existing C models and the new C models with LODs. This update will significantly increase performance and allow for a greater range of community and Valve item replacements in later updates.

Other

Unreleased Meet the Team videos

There are two unreleased Meet the Team videos expected for release, Meet the Pyro and Meet the Medic. As revealed in an interview with Robin Walker by the podcast Kritzkast, Meet the Pyro will be a look at the world through the Pyro's eyes. In another interview with Robin Walker, he mentioned that there will be three more videos, one of which is unknown.

Source Filmmaker

Main article: Source Filmmaker

Source Filmmaker is the name of the tool used to create the Meet the Team videos, the Left 4 Dead intro movies, and other Valve-produced clips. It has not yet been officially released, though it was leaked.

Others polycount contest entries

VALVe selected only five entries from the TF2 Polycount Contest. But there were 76 contestants who had finished and post their work on time. Valve has said that the quality of most of the packs were good enough to be released later on.[citation needed] You can see all entries here.

Contribution Site Gallery

VALVe stated they would release a way to view all user submitted content before they were implemented into the game (or not). It is unknown when this feature will be available.
