The Red-Tape Recorder is a Sapper for the Spy. It appears as a tape recorder with two Chinese symbols on the front. It can be placed on any enemy building to reverse the construction process and to halt its operation.

The Recorder has five different sounds for when it is sapping a building.

Trivia

  • This weapon's name may be a reference to Red Tape, a slang term for bureaucracy that hinders or prevents action or decision-making.
  • The three characters on the Recorder is in Chinese, the words "反砲塔" can be directly translated to "Anti-Cannon Tower".
  • Of the five possible sounds, a voice can be heard in three of them, one is in English, one is in Chinese, and the final in Japanese.
