A Death occurs when a player's life drops below one health point, resulting in a kill. There are several types of kills that can be inflicted either by players or by the environment. A death yields a range of points to the player or players who dealt the killing blow and adds one to your own death count. The name of you and your killer (if you were killed by a player) is displayed in the recent kills log on the upper right corner of the HUD. After you are killed, you enter the respawn cycle and must wait a certain length of time before you can rejoin the game. Upon death, a player will also drop his weapon, yielding ammo and metal to other players should they walk over it. The following is a list of different types of kills:

Upon death, the player's point of view is briefly shifted to third person, as the class they were playing either turns into a ragdoll or gibs, depending on the nature of the death, and drops their weapon along with a medium ammo crate. The name of the player and their respective killer is displayed in the recent kills log on the upper right corner of the HUD, along with the kill icon of the respective weapon used by the killer. You! Yes, you! You are dead!
The Heavy

Death occurs when a player's health points drop to zero, resulting in a kill. There are several types of kills that can be inflicted either by players or by the environment. A death yields a range of points to the player or players who dealt the killing blow and adds one point to the victim's death count.

After death, the player is placed in the respawn cycle and must wait a certain length of time before rejoining the game. During this time, the player will temporarily enter spectate mode, unless instant respawn is enabled on the server.

In Mann vs. Machine mode, a player's death is broadcast to all teammates via a sound cue.
