Polycount weapons

Speaking of weapons, the winners of the polycount update have been announced, the new weapons are listed and visible on the official blog, however we don't know as of yet their statistics, I would strongly suggest we add their names and pictures into the weapon section (but without statistics for now.)--The preceding unsigned comment was added by Guy (talk) • contribs)

First things, first, click the little + symbol at the top of the screen to make a new topic at the BOTTOM of the talk page. Also, sign your comments with ~~~~.
As for making new pages, that would take a lot of time to cut and upload each weapon image, only to have them removed with the actual update. We could make the placeholders, but not put anything in it. I don't really see a point though. --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 21:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
this type of posting really confuses me, but thanks for the clarification, and please excuse me for messing up the post or whatever it's called. Guy 21:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It's no problem. The newest stuff goes on the bottom because it can be easier to read once the posts get really long. One other note, tab over your comments on talk pages with colons as I am now, so that everything looks much nicer. Thanks! --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 21:32, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
We don't know the names of the new weapons, since Valve often changes the names of community weapons upon release(e.g. the Southern Hospitality was originally the Beat-All), and so if we started making articles for these weapons now we would be making pages in the wrong places. The current set-up we have is fine (the frontpage polycount banner and its linked page gives all the info we know without cluttering up the wiki). - DysprosiumJudas 22:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah yes, Good point Dysprosium --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 22:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Exactly DysprosiumJudas. You gain my knowledge and understanding star for the day! -- Smashman... (ts) 22:34, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

OTF Wiki and TF2 Wiki

What's happening to the old wiki, tf2wiki.net? Seb26 11:11, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

The owner wants to keep it, that's all I know. He'll realise it's a fool's pursuit once Valve add more wiki stuff in-game. -- Smashman... (ts) 11:15, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Could I make an article about this?

I found a iPhone theme on Modmyi about the Engineer Update. Could I make a article about it?

Just for a theme? It has to blow my mind. -- Vi3trice (talk) 02:33, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
To the user above Vi3trice, please sign your comments by ending them with ~~~~. Also, that kind of content does not warrant its own article. -- En Ex (talk) 02:41, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Page for pl_minepit?

We have pages for other custom maps and this one was featured on the TF2 blog. I think we should have a page for the map. -KazooieBanjo 01:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

As soon as that map is released, you can go ahead and start it. -- En Ex (talk) 02:55, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
It has been released and is in beta 4 at the moment. -KazooieBanjo 22:52, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Should we really want a page for a map so... questionable? -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 01:02, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Well at least it's not Mariokart. -- Vi3trice (talk) 01:10, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Languages

I think we need to make the language page links start to appear on every page, and more prominently. I know the VDC shows available language pages in the top right corner as flags. We don't have to use flags, but I think the positioning of the flags is something that we should look into.

Another example is what Wikipedia does. Their language links are in the sidebar. (I don't really know how this idea is going to work technically, but the principle still stands). What does everyone think? seb26 (talk) 05:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Well, we currently have it in the same fashion as MediaWiki's wiki. It works well enough. -- Smashman... (ts) 11:12, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Well is there a MediaWiki:Footer or something page that we can use to at least make it show up on every page, maybe hide it altogether if there are no other languages available? seb26 (talk) 11:16, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
