Análisis

Key: C Minor
Time Signature: 4/4
Tempo: 90 BPM
Duración: 1:41
Fecha de lanzamiento: 18 de mayo de 2009
Actualización: Sniper vs. Spy
Compositor: Mike Morasky

The track starts with suspended, frozen strings, fading in with an eerie piano arpeggio. It outlines a Cm to Eb Major progression, which is mirrored by both brass and legato stabs from the strings section. Building tension, part of the strings section acts as a riser, moving chromatically upwards as the song progresses in intensity. The tension is heightened further as the instrumentation moves further up in pitch, taking a trip up to Fm and G before crashing back down dramatically onto Cm. This is repeated with greater emphasis on the strings melody, which cries out in a higher pitch than anything around it. This section acts as the climax of the song, and comes to represent it at its core; even at its highest point, the track is filled with tension, created for the sole purpose of capturing the Spy's mystique. The piano, meanwhile, plays a somewhat-staccato single note phrase. Interestingly, it acts as neither a pedal nor a drone, but it borrows functionality from both techniques. The track ends much the same as it started, fading out to piano only.
