It disintegrates players, even their gibs! It fires lazers, first soldier weapon to directly cause mini-crits. Has the disabling affects of a sapper(without the obvious destruction). Has moar ammo in a clip than any weapon, and the most ammo, being indefinitely usable. Is moderately easy to craft. Ummmm..... Thats about it please nominate this lol.... <small>— ''The preceding unsigned comment was added by'' '''[[User:Bunnydav1d|Bunnydav1d]]''' ([[User talk:Bunnydav1d|talk]]) ([[Special:Contributions/Bunnydav1d|contribs]]) </small>

Something of a hub article. It is a complete, interesting, informative article. Heck of a lot of links... pretty much exactly what's on the tin. It's an item timeline. It does what it says it will and looks sexy doing it. --[[User:SilverHammer|SilverHammer]] 23:25, 16 August 2011 (PDT)

I think that it's time Scout was added to the featured articles rotation. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation.
:{{C|Neutral}} It's got what it needs to be, but it's a list. We'd be better off showing off the weapons, or the item sets. I'm gray here. [[User:Triscuitable|Triscuitable]] 20:34, 19 August 2011 (PDT)

Will outline some similar info to the most recent nomination (made for Pyro), since it's largely relevant here as well. Obviously the nine classes of TF2 are hugely important articles to this wiki, and should be some of our most forward-facing pages when users land on the Main page. There are only two classes not currently in the featured rotation - Scout and Demoman. With regards to the featured pages for other classes:
Not much to say, it's a good page and informative. {{n}} [[User:Cructo|{{tf2b|text=Cructo|size=15px}}]] <span style="font-size:10px"><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:Cructo|T]]<nowiki>][</nowiki>[[Special:Contributions/Cructo|C]]<nowiki>]</nowiki></span> 17:11, 6 November 2011 (PST)

* It's well written, properly styled and very much a stable page.

== [[Soldier]] ==

* It has all the expected referential and informational media, which has been used in an appropriate manner.

Clean, pure execution on a theme. Nicely represents the backstory and weaponry of this class. Clean explanation of Speed, despite obvious complexity. :I believe the last nomination for Scout was in 2014 (which I found [[Team_Fortress_Wiki:Featured_articles/Archive_5#Scout|here]] in Archive 5. There does exist a prior '''Featured article candidate''' template on the talk page. : {{c|Support}} Given that a [[Talk:BLU#Requesting merge|merge proposal]] has been made regarding the RED and BLU articles, I think it appropriate to revisit the FA status of RED and BLU. The argument for merge is that the articles are redundant. A counter-argument is that that very redundancy is fundamental to the themes of the articles. If the two articles are intentionally so similar, and if the decision falls against the merge, then BLU should have at least a brief, if long overdue, stint as featured article if only to complete the intended symmetry. The Eureka Effect is a very interesting weapon for the Engineer with a very useful caracteristic: the ability to teleport either to your base or your exit teleporter. Modifing, at least a little bit, the playstyle of the Engi and given the player more mobility and different ways to play with.

I nominate this article as it clearly defines all the different variations of robots. This article also assists new players in learning what each icon means, what this robot can do and how to counter it. It offers links to pages that go more in depth on every robot. The final reason why I nominate this article is the unused content section offers a clear view on all of the unused robots, as it clearly describes each and every one.

My reasons to nominate this article are the following:

* The media used is very informative and is properly made, as expected

In my opinion, the [[Pyro Robot]] should be considered as an article for the FAP. It has all relating images, tells you everything you need to know about the article, and is up-to-date. I'd like to make the case that Bumper Cars should be a Featured Article after {{diff|3805312|the overhaul}} from [[User:Kibblekip|Kibblekip]]. This turned from a very small page to a much bigger and well-written article that covers its functionality extensively, as well as covering minor things like the HUD, achievements, the associated spells, and a fun quote. The fun quote is not necessarily relevant, I just like Merasmus a lot. I believe this page, although small, should become a featured article.
::The recent update with series Unusuals made the page need some edits, so once it gets updated, I think it should be put up. Very unique page, well-written, and has a lot of information and images on it. Each contents of the page are really well explained and as well listing to other areas of the Wiki. I also think that the "Mann vs. Machine" featured article on the main page are quite outdated, especially as it states "In the newly added Mann vs. Machine game mode...", so we probably need something else for that. :: I'd be in support of adding Bumper Cars to the [[Team Fortress Wiki talk:Weapon Demonstration|video demonstration project]] page potentially, and create a demonstration video to show off the bumper cars and the mechanics/spells used by them? I'm unsure if the spells portion would conflict with the existing demonstration for the [[Spellbook Magazine]], but it seems that demonstration does not include bumper car spells anyway. As mentioned too, a 3D-view of the bumper cars would certainly be a nice-to-have as well (images with the classes would be good for showing the different body proportions).<br>[[User:Kibblekip|<font color="7D4071">Kibblekip</font>]] [[User Talk:Kibblekip|<font color="803020"><b>T</b></font>]] | [[Special:Contributions/Kibblekip|<font color="256D8D"><b>C</b></font>]] 03:47, 11 September 2024 (UTC)

:{{c|oppose|Oppose}} I definitely agree that it's surprisingly detailed for a new article - however I personally don't think it's really 'featured article' material. To me, it's just a standard cosmetic page that has a ''lot'' of styles for every class available.     • comprehensive: it should be complete, without omission of major facts or details;
    • accurate: it should be factually accurate, and sourced where appropriate.
  2. It should also be—
    • well-written: the prose of the article is engaging, and of a professional standard;
    • properly styled: the article should follow all conventions in the Style guide;
    • stable: the article should not be currently undergoing any major revisions or edit wars;
    • of appropriate length: the article should stay focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail.
  3. Its use of media should be—

Scout

I think that it's time Scout was added to the featured articles rotation. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation.

  • The Scout article follows the same format and contains all the comprehensive information one would expect.
  • It's well written, properly styled and very much a stable page.
  • It has all the expected referential and informational media, which has been used in an appropriate manner.
  • And finally, it's well-linked to various categories and pages around the wiki.

Let me know if there's anything within the article that could potentially be cleaned up or expanded, I'd be more than happy to add to the improvement effort if needed. Epsilonal (talk) 07:47, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

I believe the last nomination for Scout was in 2014 (which I found here in Archive 5. Don't know if it just flew under the radar, but I did see that the Featured article candidate template remains on its talk page. Not sure how long it has been there for, so I figured a discussion would be useful here. Epsilonal (talk) 07:51, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Demoman

Nominating this page separately to Scout just in case opinions differ, but will largely be following the same line of reasoning.

Demoman is probably also overdue to be added to the featured articles rotation. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation.

Will outline some similar info to the most recent nomination (made for Pyro), since it's largely relevant here as well. Obviously the nine classes of TF2 are hugely important articles to this wiki, and should be some of our most forward-facing pages when users land on the Main page. • It has all the expected referential and informational media, which has been used in an appropriate manner.
  • And finally, it's well-linked to various categories and pages around the wiki.

There does exist a prior Featured article candidate template on the talk page. Was not able to determine how long ago this was added, but judging by the archives I'd say it's probably due for a discussion as well. Let me know if there's anything within the article that could potentially be cleaned up or expanded, I'd be more than happy to add to the improvement effort if needed. Eureka Effect

The Eureka Effect is a very interesting weapon for the Engineer with a very useful caracteristic: the ability to teleport either to your base or your exit teleporter. Modifing, at least a little bit, the playstyle of the Engi and given the player more mobility and different ways to play with.

My reasons to nominate this article are the following:

  • The article is well written
  • Gives players useful information about the weapon
  • The media used is very informative and is properly made, as expected
  • Introduce the weapon to newer players

With nothing more to say, I would like to see this article featured on the front page since is a very well written article and the weapons itself is cool and interesting to use, even tho I don't play Engineer that much. Bumper Cars

I'd like to make the case that Bumper Cars should be a Featured Article after the overhaul from Kibblekip.

Unfortunately, I can't put {{Featured article candidate}} on it due to the glorious Flow talk page system we all love so much.

Pictogram plus.png Support I agree, add those bumper cars on there!

Pictogram minus.png Oppose The Bumper Cars page sorta just feels like Magic Spells but covers less information. I'd rather feature Magic Spells than Bumper Cars. That's just my opinion though. Mediarch User Mediarch PFP.pngTalkMy Edits 19:02, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
Pictogram neutral.png Neutral It feels somewhat awkward of me to comment on given I did a lot of the overhaul, especially given I don't have much of value to add anyway, but I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to it being featured. I'm in agreement though that it may be better to feature the Magic spells page instead (or as well as) due to the shared information between them.

Pictogram info.png On hold. While the page is surely in a better state, I wouldn't say it's outstanding (half the page is shared with the Magic Spells article). It could use some images of the classes, maybe even a 3D view or video showcasing the controllers/movement/spells. — Tark 03:01, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
I'd be in support of adding Bumper Cars to the video demonstration project page potentially, and create a demonstration video to show off the bumper cars and the mechanics/spells used by them? I'm unsure if the spells portion would conflict with the existing demonstration for the Spellbook Magazine, but it seems that demonstration does not include bumper car spells anyway. As mentioned too, a 3D-view of the bumper cars would certainly be a nice-to-have as well (images with the classes would be good for showing the different body proportions).
