- Observations
- 4 waves of Patch Quality Community map development?:
- Early days before there was an abundance of Patched maps, and the Community filled a demand. c. 2010-2011
- Innovation of Community play modes Achievement, Idle, Trade, Training, Jump, etc.
- Valve competitions for themed maps: Haunted, Jungle
- Continuation of development of maps in absence of Valve's direct involvement: TF2 mappers, Potato
- Several Custom maps articles were "started" in 2010, by familiar editor names, but this practice did not seem to continue, strongly.
- The commonalty of the 2010 date may be due to the 2007 Team Fortress Wiki being ported to the Valve server in 2010.
- Earlier map articles are presumed ported without the change history.
- Three TF2Map.net contests predate 2010, some effort is needed to index what happened when (see the date finally added to A/D CTF and Payload Race Contest.
- In particular, a new wave of pages cover unPatched MvM maps.
- Recently, Admin deleted some empty (infobox only) pages. However, some have been replace with fuller content, but some with unknown notability.
- Recently, there are some new Custom map pages with unknown notability (exhibit no evidence of notability we have discussed so far).

- At some point, did TF2Maps.net consistently switch from competitions to Jams?
- Could someone look up and add the year and blog links to the TF2Maps.net competition pages?
Some of these map I have never looked until just now at because they are unPatched, but with this light skim I am now at least curious about some of these.
Ancient Ones
Here is a list of Ancient maps, 2010-2011. Some pages were ported from the predecessor wiki and actually date to before 2010.
Several of these were self-promoted (written by the map creator).
Of these, the only one regularly being played is Convoy; the only one Mikado282 would think is notable. Please discuss in Talk.
