The Quickiebomb Launcher is a community-created secondary weapon for the Demoman. It is a black, sleek stickybomb launcher with a belt covering the bottom of the magazine.

The stickybombs fired by this weapon are spiked, with glowing team-colored sections. They are armed 0.2 seconds more quickly, making them detonatable after roughly half a second and optimizing them for quick in-combat detonations (or "airbursting"). Additionally, due to a 50% increase in charge rate, the charge meter is filled up after only two seconds instead of four.

As for downsides, the Quickiebomb Launcher has a 25% smaller clip size (loading only 6 bombs at a time), and its stickybombs deal 15% less damage. In addition, while there may still be up to 8 stickybombs active at once, they each vanish 2 seconds after landing on a surface; as a result, long-term sticky traps are impossible, and even short-term ones can practically contain no more than 3 bombs.

The Quickiebomb Launcher was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The Kingmaker".

Update history

December 22, 2014 Patch (Smissmas 2014)

  • The Quickiebomb Launcher was added to the game.

Bugs

  • The item's attributes list includes "Able to destroy enemy stickybombs", despite being unable to do so; stickybombs will only push back stickybombs, like other explosive projectiles.
  • Killing someone with the Quickiebomb Launcher results in the killfeed displaying the Stickybomb Launcher kill icon instead of the correct kill icon.
