You're a looooooong way from France, boy.
The Engineer

The Southern Hospitality is a community-made melee weapon for the Engineer. It appears as a modified pipe wrench with a spiked knuckle guard and a sharp metal piece on the top.

Striking an opponent with this weapon causes them to bleed, allowing players to track fleeing Cloaked Spies. On the other hand, this weapon does not deliver random critical hits, and players wielding it have a 20% fire vulnerability.

Switching from the Southern Hospitality to a different melee weapon will destroy all existing buildings.

Trivia

Radigan Conagher holding the Southern Hospitality.
  • The Southern Hospitality, as with the Frontier Justice, the Wrangler and the Gunslinger, appears to have been designed by Radigan Conagher, the Engineer's grandfather. This is shown by a hidden link in the Engineer Update.
  • The name "Southern Hospitality" is derived from the same phrase describing the warm and welcoming American South. It is an ironic statement considering the fact that it is a weapon causing excessive bleeding.
  • WatchMaker suggested the name 'Beat All' when he submitted the model. [1]
  • The console previously listed the weapon name as the "Southern Comfort", and is still refered to in the game files.
