Sun Tzu said that!
The Soldier

The Killer's Kabuto is a community-created headwear item for the Soldier and was chosen by Valve to be released with the first wave of community-contributed content due to its outstanding quality. It appears as a team-colored kabuto-style Japanese helmet, with an elaborate gold ornament displaying the Soldier's class icon.

Trivia

  • During the Momoyama period of civil war, these "kawari kabuto" (strange helmets) were mass-produced. They are made of 3 or 4 large plates of metal, as opposed to hundreds of tiny metal strips riveted together, as is the standard for 'traditional' kabuto.
  • This hat could possibly be inspired by the Soldier's Sun Tzu fascination and the Soldier's warrior-like personality. The Soldier's might have been indiscriminate and chose a Japanese helmet even though Sun Tzu is in fact Chinese.
  • This is currently the only Soldier item to bear his badge.
  • The Killer's Kabuto is the second community hat to appear in a Valve animated short.
  • Special Valve versions of the hat have been given to certain players, two of which are ibuprofen (who got his after sending in a frag video of his to Valve) and Ubercharged.net admin himmelstoss (for presumably unknown reasons). The hat does not shine, rather, the top of the hat has been lit on fire.
*The hat does not cause the player wearing it to burn or increase/decrease weakness to fire.
