The Belgian Detective is a community-created cosmetic item for the Spy. It is a homburg with a large black band on the crown with another band on the brim, with an accompanying mustache. This item is based on the appearance of Hercule Poirot, a fictional Belgian detective created by Agatha Christie.
The Belgian Detective was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The Double Clue."

Update history
July 10, 2013 Patch (Summer Event 2013)
- The Belgian Detective was added to the game.
Trivia
- The original description referenced the famous crime fiction cliché "The butler did it", when a noble person is murdered and the butler of this person is revealed to be the murderer.
- Originally, this item had two styles: "Too bad", with mustache, and "Off please", without mustache (resembling the Harmburg). The second style was not implemented due to importer tool limits.
- The styles' names refer to a quote from Captain Murphy, from the television program Sealab 2021.
- The name and appearance of the hat refers to Hercule Poirot, a Belgian Detective in novels written by Agatha Christie.
