General Strategy (All Classes)

- The Rooftops and Catwalks around the map are advantagous as they give you height, which means you can spot enemies before they see you and avoid getting caught in dangerous situations. These elevated positions are perfect for scouting out Saxton Hale and a great spot for flanking, but they're also highly exposed. Moving across them can make you an easy target for long-range attacks, especially from anyone controlling the high ground. Use them carefully and try to catch enemies off guard when they're distracted.
- The Access and Flank buildings hide you from Hale and offer different paths to move around the map.
Class-specific strategy
Scout
- While risky, if Hale is nearby the Toxic Waste, use the Shortstop's alternate attack (default key: MOUSE2) to push Hale into the Toxic Waste.
- If Hale is chasing you after you attempted to capture the Control Point, the Flank building is a good escape route.
- The Atomizer's third jump is useful to navigate between the rooftops, as well as being able to reach the rooftops easier.
Soldier
- The Roofs offer a good high ground advantage against Hale to fire rockets from, especially if he is on the lower areas of the map such as the Perimeter.
Pyro
- The compression blast can be used to push Saxton Hale into the Toxic Waste.
- Use corners and small rooms, such as the interior of the Flank building, to ambush Hale and stall for time with compression blasting and flare combos.
- If both you and Hale are on the Perimeter, you can airblast him into the hole at the center that drops down to the Pit, wasting his time and letting your teammates deal some free damage to him.
Demoman
- A good spot to for a sticky trap is in the mercenaries' spawn room, but be aware that it is an enclosed space where Hale will easily spot you. Consider watching the doorway from a distance rather than from inside the spawn room.
Heavy
- Use the roofs cautiously. While you have good visibility, you are an easy target. Only go up if you have a clear escape route or support.
Engineer
- A Sentry Gun on top of one of the roofs makes for an excellent spot that Hale has to go out of his way to destroy (wasting precious time), as well as having a large overview of the outside area.
Medic
- Heal teammates who have been pushed into the Toxic Waste. Alongside them losing health, they are in a weaker position and a prime target for Hale.
Sniper
- The roofs give a good sightline to the outside area of the maps, as well as a sightline into doorways as Hale passes by.
Spy
- If Hale is around the control point paths of the Flank building while you are in the main room, you can drop down to the Control Point paths and backstab him if well-timed.
Saxton Hale
- The map is quite small meaning it is easier to pick off lone targets.
- When leaving your spawn, you can use the alternate exit paths if the main one is being camped.
- Watch the rooftops. Players may try to hide or camp there, but they can be reached with a Brave Jump or Sweeping Charge.
