- Flanking routes can be used to ambush enemies, but teams should be prepared to quickly establish defensive positions when the central delivery zone becomes active.
- Knockback can be used to throw any players into the central pit, causing an instant death
Class-specific strategy
Scout
- If the enemy team pushes toward the center, use Mad Milk to mark them as a viable target. This allows your teammates to gain additional healing while contesting the push and helps force the enemy back.
- Use the Force-a-Nature to knock back the enemy team's leader, or to delay the enemy from delivering or collecting the objective.
Soldier
- Due to the two elevation levels on the map, you can surprise enemies by jumping up from the low ground in unexpected places.
- You can also use your mobility to gain the high ground instead.
- Peak through corners and be ready to ambush if the enemy team leader is a light class.
- The Buff Banner and Battalion's Backup are a big help when delivering or attacking the middle.
Pyro
- The Thermal Thruster provides a mobility advantage, allowing you to drop onto isolated enemies or escape when nearby areas become too dangerous.
Demoman
- Try to gain the high ground advantage in order to use stickies more easily. Spam as much towards the center when possible.
- Demoknights excel as a pickup collector. Gather them efficiently, using the shield to escape danger or to bash and eliminate isolated enemies.
- Sticky trap entrances, routes, or potential pickups to slow down their progress.
Heavy
- Stay close in front of the team leader, acting as a protective barrier. Advance forward if the center of the map opens.
Engineer
- Building a Sentry nest behind the catwalks can benefit your team to further defend or attack middle.
Medic
- Healing the team leader is essential; however, avoid using an ÜberCharge on them while they are delivering, as it can slow overall team progress. Only use it in this situation if no other teammates require healing for defense.
Sniper
- Position yourself behind and above catwalks or doorways, maintaining a clear sightline to the center of the map.
Spy
- Track enemy movement toward their spawn and attempt to backstab players that are going to deliver the Australium. After stabbing, you can immediately run towards the center and deliver them yourself.
