General Strategy (All Classes)

- Secure the areas surrounding the control points to limit the enemy team's ability to capture from either Point A or Point B.
- The center can be a major contention point between both teams. If one control point is captured first, use flanking routes on your side to dismantle enemy defenses and ambushes before advancing on the remaining point.
- Splitting the team into two groups can be effective to assess which control point is less defended, allowing the team to exploit existing territory and maintain map control.
- Point A offers limited cover, primarily along the sides of the control point, which results in fewer opportunities for prolonged combat stalling.
- Point B is more open, with the surrounding buildings providing high-ground control and a large headless statue in the center. This structure can be used to ambush enemies or break line of sight to disengage.
- Be aware of the large frozen river near the point; avoid falling into it during combat. If Point A has already been captured by the enemy team, the frozen river flank can be used as an alternative route to approach or reposition.
- When flanking Point B, exercise caution when using the side route, as it is a narrow chokepoint that provides high ground to both teams. Check for enemy buildings such as Teleporters or Sentry Guns, as destroying them can significantly slow the enemy team's advance.
Class-specific strategy
Scout
- Capturing control points is the Scout's primary objective. Be prepared to rotate to the next point if the current one is already being secured by your team or left undefended. If attempting to capture alone, focus on stalling the enemy and regroup with your team afterward.
- The Bonk! Atomic Punch can be used to stall or distract enemies contesting a control point, allowing your team to quickly capture the opposing point.
- Point A
- Mad Milk is especially effective on this point due to the open layout, allowing groups of enemies to be marked and effectively turned into moving health sources for the team.
- Use the Force-a-Nature to knock back anyone away from the point, or towards the frozen river.
Soldier
- The Concheror can be activated while rotating between points, providing a speed boost for the whole team.
- Similarly, the Disciplinary Action can be used for the same purpose but more frequently. However, it is only used for single players.
- Point A
- The only significant high ground is located near the control point, across the river. While it provides a positional advantage, accessing it requires passing through a narrow area that may be trapped with stickies or covered by an enemy Sniper.
- When on your own, advance behind Point A using the available flanking routes to maintain pressure and disrupt the enemy team.
- Point B
- Use the elevated positions on the buildings to maximize damage on enemies below.
- Be cautious when shooting around the central statue, as it can obstruct vision or leave you exposed while defending or contesting the point.
Pyro
- Point A
- To counter flankers approaching from the far side of the point, use the airblast to push enemies off the cliff.
- The Gas Passer can be used to steer enemies away from the point, with the lingering gas cloud providing temporary area denial.
- Point B
- The Backburner is effective when positioned near buildings that provide cover, allowing for surprise attacks on enemies contesting the point.
- When confronted by enemies while capturing, use the central statue for cover and movement to break line of sight and confuse opponents.
Demoman
- Gain high ground whenever possible to maximize the effectiveness of stickybombs. Spam towards control points and flanking routes to apply pressure and control enemy movement.
- The Sticky Jumper can be used to land ambushes from above, or combined with any Stickybomb Launcher to disrupt enemy advances and help your team push them back.
Point A
- Optimal locations for planting sticky traps include behind pillars, near the solo doorway, or along the frozen river flank.
- The Demoknight is effective at controlling river flanks and picking off enemy Snipers as they attempt to traverse these areas.
Point B
- Hide stickies near the central spiral/tower or around the statue to catch enemies attempting to cross your side. Detonate them strategically to disrupt enemy advances.
- Running directly toward the point alone is risky; instead, move with teammates and Scout the enemy side for potential Sentry nests or incoming ÜberCharges before advancing.
Heavy
- Stay near a Medic or a Dispenser and attempt to capture only when the enemy is committed to the point.
- Drop Sandvich behind you or near the point to provide temporary healing for teammates during pushes or defensive holds.
- Point A
- The doorway and river flank are strong approaches for attacking the point, but avoid hugging walls where explosives can deal a lot of damage.
- Point B
- Secure the far flank through the castle door and advance toward the enemy alongside your team to maintain pressure.
- Position near the spire area to maintain sightlines on two doorways simultaneously, allowing you to control enemy movement and support pushes more effectively.
Engineer
- Building Sentry nests behind catwalks can help the team both defensively and offensively.
- The Jag is useful for quickly repairing/deploying buildings. The Rescue Ranger allows you to move or heal buildings from a distance, ensuring rapid building upkeep during pushes or defenses.
- Mini-Sentry Guns are useful to harass enemies, especially light classes like the Scout or Sniper.
- Point A
- Build Teleporters between both control points to allow your team to rotate faster.
- Place a Sentry Gun near the river flank to counter enemy Scouts and Pyros attempting to infiltrate the area.
- Point B
- For Sentry Guns on high ground, use the Wrangler to increase firing speed and protect buildings from long-range threats.
- Position Dispensers behind props or in areas with few healing pickups to provide consistent support for teammates.
Medic
- Point A
- Stay alert while moving to teammates for healing. Use pillars for cover and coordinate with a teammate to maximize healing efficiency.
- Point B
- Use an ÜberCharge when advancing with your team toward enemies near the central spiral.
Sniper
- Position behind and above catwalks or doorways to maintain clear sightlines to each control point.
- Point A
- The point has narrow sightlines; remain alert for enemy Snipers.
- Relocate and use flanking routes to obtain better angles on targets.
- Point B
- Hold high ground and corner positions to deny enemy advances.
Spy
- Point A
- Use the pillars and corners to break line-of-sight for ambushes.
- Point B
- Use high ground near the statue or castle door for ambushes.
