The Medic

Information

The Übersaw is an unlockable melee weapon for the Medic class and classed as a Level 10 Bonesaw. It can be unlocked after completing 22 Medic achievements. It's appearance resembles the Bonesaw with a large syringe fixed into the blade and the needle pointing out the tip of the blade. Every successful hit with the Übersaw adds 25% to the player's ÜberCharge meter, at the cost of a 20% slower swing rate than the Bonesaw. This effect still applies to a Scout under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch, however, it will still not damage the Scout. Its critical hit animation is an upwards sawing motion.

The vial on the Übersaw's syringe also represents your current ÜberCharge as it grows slowly when you heal teammates. If you deploy your Übercharge and switch to the Übersaw, you can see the needle slowly draining.

Taunting with the Übersaw equipped will perform a deadly Spinal Tap attack. which instantly kills an enemy on successful contact and adds 50% to the Übercharge meter.

Trivia

  • Before the January 13, 2010 Patch, taunting with the Übersaw would play the same Bonesaw taunt but with a deeper cello tone rather than a violin sound. (See Video.)
  • In the censored version of TF2 the Ubersaw and the Axtinguisher are not stained with blood.
