The L'Etranger (pronounced /le.tʁɑ̃.ʒe/) is a community-created secondary weapon for the Spy. It is a stylish, narrow-barreled revolver with an ivory handle design.
This weapon deals 20% less damage than the default Revolver, making it less suitable for direct combat. However, a successful hit fills the Spy's cloak meter by 15%, regardless of which cloaking device is equipped. Equipping this weapon also extends the maximum duration of the Spy's cloak by 40%. Players can therefore use the gun to charge their cloak, and then use the added cloak duration to perform an escape or traverse a guarded area. This is especially useful when there are no ammo supplies nearby, or if the selected cloaking device makes using ammo supplies difficult.
The bonus cloak duration works to a lesser degree with the Dead Ringer due to its innate cloak duration bonus. If the Your Eternal Reward is equipped, its drain penalty is nullified and the cloak duration bonus of the L'Etranger is halved.
The kill icon for the L'Etranger was contributed by Psyke .

Trivia
- "L'Etranger" is the French title of an existentialist novel, written by Albert Camus, in which an emotionally-detached French Algerian murders an Arab with a handgun.
- The main character of the book is widely considered a sociopath due to his cold nature, similar to the Spy's cold and murderous actions.
- "L'Etranger" is French for "The Stranger", "The Outsider", "The Foreigner" or "Abroad", tying in with the Spy's mysterious nature and his origins in France.
- The item's name misses the acute accent of "É". The French localization does have the accent.
