The Übersaw is a melee weapon for the Medic. It appears as a cleaver-like blade fixed into a Bonesaw grip. Its most prominent feature is a large syringe with its needle protruding out of the edge.
Every successful hit against an enemy player with this weapon adds 25% to the player's ÜberCharge meter, at the cost of a 20% slower swing rate. This effect still applies to a Scout under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch; however, the Scout will not receive any damage. Its Critical hit animation is an upwards sawing motion, similar to the animation used by the Bonesaw.
The vial on the Übersaw's syringe serves as a visual representation of the Medic's ÜberCharge. It fills slowly as teammates are healed and enemies are attacked with the weapon. Should the ÜberCharge be deployed and the player switch to the Übersaw, the liquid can be seen slowly draining from the syringe.
Taunting with the Übersaw equipped will perform the deadly Spinal Tap attack. A successful kill with Spinal Tap will give the Medic 50% ÜberCharge.
The Übersaw is automatically given to any player who obtains 22 Medic achievements.
