The Spy

The Invis Watch (short for Invisibility Watch) is the default PDA weapon for the Spy. It is an advanced cloaking device disguised as a digital watch with a wooden face and a segmented silver wristband.

Pressing the alternate fire button (Default: MOUSE2) with any weapon active will cause the Spy to Cloak, becoming completely invisible to enemies and allowing him to infiltrate enemy territory and stalk targets without being seen. The Spy cannot attack or place Sappers while cloaked, but will still be able to use the Disguise Kit. While cloaked, the Spy takes 20% less damage from all sources. In addition, status effects (e.g.: Jarate, bleed, afterburn) will expire faster on cloaked players.

Cloaking is not instant; it takes around 1 second for the Spy to fully fade from view. Decloaking takes approximately 2 seconds, and the player must wait until they are fully decloaked before being able to attack or place a Sapper. In addition, if the Spy takes any damage while cloaked, or bumps into an enemy player, then his cloak will momentarily 'flicker' and be visible to enemy players.

The Invis Watch has a limited battery life, indicated by a meter on the HUD as well as a bright blue bar on the watch itself. The cloak meter will automatically recharge when not in use. In addition, the cloak meter can be recharged with ammo boxes, resupply cabinets, and Dispensers, even when the user is currently cloaked. Dispensers can refill the cloak meter fast enough to keep the Spy cloaked indefinitely; while a level 1 Dispenser simply stops the normal energy loss while cloaked, level 2 and 3 Dispensers will slowly recharge the cloak meter. Additionally, scoring a hit with the L'Etranger will replenish 15% of the cloak meter, and successfully killing an enemy with the Big Earner will replenish 30%.

While cloaked, allies can still see the Spy in the form of a translucent silhouette. However, Medi Gun beams will not lock on to cloaked Spies.
