The Demoman on sticky jumping training techniques

The Sticky Jumper is a secondary weapon for the Demoman. Similar in appearence to the Stickybomb Launcher, it features a painted orange muzzle, an orange and white striped pattern on the magazine, yet lacks a front iron sight. The weapons also fires unique projectiles of rounded Stickybombs.

Intended for training, the Sticky Jumper comes with a tripled ammunition count. Whilst it fires Stickybombs that deal no damage, they still inflict force propulsion on the user, allowing them to freely practice Sticky jumping techniques. However, self-damage can still be inflicted by using other explosive weaponry or by falling from great heights.

Bugs

  • The projectiles have a different scale, making them not fly as far as normal stickybombs.[1]
  • Projectiles cannot be moved or destroyed except by the player who laid the Stickybombs.
  • There have been instances where a player has acquired the Scottish Resistance taunt achievement Second Eye with this item.
  • Projectiles fired by the Sticky Jumper appear to "change teams" upon being reflected by a Pyro, but can still detonated by the Demoman. These reflected projectiles can damage the Pyro who reflected them; any resulting deaths will count as a suicide.
  • Like the default Stickybomb Launcher, the Demoman doesn't use his left hand to hold the front handle in first person view. Additionally, although appearing in the world model, the view model has no second handle at all.
  • On taunting, the Sticky Jumper clips through the Demoman's right leg, just like the default Stickybomb Launcher.

Trivia

  • The RED projectile model was originally added in the WAR! Update for the Scottish Resistance but was unused in favor of the Scottish Resistance's final projectile design.
