The Demoman on cowardly, undead horsemenn

The Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker, commonly abbreviated as UHHHH or HHHH, is a melee weapon for the Demoman. It appears as the rustic, single-bladed axe wielded by the Horseless Headless Horsemann. It is covered in notches and sports a malevolently-grinning face cut into its broad edge, similar to the face commonly carved on pumpkins for Halloween.

This weapon is a remodel of the Eyelander; it deals the same damage, has the same function times, and has the ability to increase the player's speed and maximum health upon decapitating another player. It even whispers the word 'heads' at certain intervals. Additionally, if the player manages to decapitate another Demoman wielding the Eyelander or this weapon, both the enemy's accumulated head count and the head of the decapitated Demoman will be added to the killing player's head count. However, the weapon lacks the Decapitation taunt of the Eyelander.

This weapon is available to those who acquired the Haunted Metal Scrap before or after the Scream Fortress event by killing the Horsemann with a melee weapon and subsequently crafted it through the prescribed blueprint.

Bugs

  • As with all of the Demoman's melee weapons, he mistakes the Headtaker for his bottle of Scrumpy.
  • Upon collecting 128 heads with this weapon, the counter will reset to 0. However, the player will still retain the health and speed bonus.
    • Considering that this is the result in an Template:W of the byte used to synchronize this variable, it may never be fixed.
  • Upon destroying an Engineer's building, the kill icon will be displayed as the normal kill icon for the Headtaker - with the upper half of a stick figure's body.
  • The blueprint for the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker does not list the number of refined metals required for crafting.

Trivia

  • The version of the axe carried by the Horseless Headless Horsemann is much larger and has a distinct blinking/fading purple glow.
