The Heavy to Tomislav

The Tomislav is a community-made primary weapon for the Heavy. It is an over-sized, heavily modified Template:W with two handles, an ammo drum connected to its underside, and a carrying sling hanging from the drum to the hand-guard.

The weapon sports a 40% faster spin-up time and has no spin-up sound besides a quiet jingling sound as the weapon is lowered, making it ideal for ambushing opponents. However, this comes at the cost of a 20% reduction in firing speed, lowering damage per second.

Bugs

  • Sometimes while firing, the Tomislav will appear to be shooting crits. However, the damage dealt will still be normal.
  • When firing, the muzzle flash may not be correctly displayed.
  • If you fire a shot and the weapon is kept down without firing any more bullets, it will make the firing noise for everyone around you (including the enemy team) without you being able to hear it.
  • The Tomislav's ambient occulsion bake is inconsistent with the model; the portion where the gun attaches to the barrel is inconsistent from where the AO bake shows the attachment's shadow should be.
  • In viewmodel, the handle will clip through the Heavy's hand when winding up or spinning down.

Trivia

  • The name Tomislav is derived from the Slavic verb tomiti, meaning "to suppress."[1] It is also a play on "Tommy gun", a nickname for the Thompson submachine gun popularly associated with gangsters during the Prohibition era.
  • Tomislav was originally named the Black Market Brawler.
  • The original design for Tomislav featured an intricate team-colored flower pattern on the drum magazine and a team-colored ribbon on the barrel.
  • The first-person view models of the Tomislav, as well as that of the Iron Curtain and Brass Beast, are based on the actual scale of the weapon models. This is in contrast to the Minigun and Natascha, which used separate skewed models to present more of the weapons on the screen.
