I use the Fists most of the time because of the faster swing rate and the occasional taunt kill during Humiliation. As for the Sandvich, it always saves my or my Medic's ass like the Bonk! Atomic Punch does, but it also creates funny moments that I wouldn't want to give up on. For instance, try dropping a Sandvich in front of the enemy gate at setup time when an enemy Pyro is whacking the other side of the gate with his Homewrecker. Hey look buddy, I'm an Engineer. That means I'm supposedly credit to team! :D
It also means this:
This user thoroughly enjoyed the Engineer Update! |
I shamelessly steal userboxes.

Loadout
Class | Primary | Secondary | Melee | Hat | Reasoning |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Scout |
Scattergun |
Bonk! Atomic Punch |
Sandman |
Modest Pile of Hat |
I mostly use the Scattergun for its superior firepower (mostly due to its clip size), but I always switch to the Force-A-Nature on certain maps where the added mobility is undeniable (Doublecross and Nucleus come to mind). I love my Bonk! Atomic Punch, as it always saves my ass from burning up or other hazards. I recently switched to using the Sandman since I found that even with the Bat, I always die quickly as a Scout, so I might as well get an additional trick up my sleeve. I always forget to actually use it though. |
Soldier |
Direct Hit |
Gunboats |
Equalizer |
Modest Pile of Hat |
While I love the Rocket Launcher's splash damage, I recently switched to the Direct Hit to try it out. I do poorly with it, especially when ÜberCharged, but I hope to improve, as I believe it is a superior weapon once mastered. I use the Gunboats to reduce the high Rocket jumping damage of the Direct Hit, and the Equalizer to run faster and Jarate off Medics (just kidding). |
Pyro |
Flamethrower |
Shotgun |
Axtinguisher |
Pyro's Beanie |
The Flamethrower is a no-brainer: airblast kills are simply too satisfying. I use the Shotgun in order to have a hitscan weapon, and because I usually miss when using the Flare Gun. As for the Axtinguisher, it is the only way to kill Heavies from the front. Not that I try to do it, but I sometimes find myself having to, or facing death. |
Demoman |
Grenade launcher |
Stickybomb Launcher |
Bottle |
Glengarry Bonnet |
Demoman is one of my least played classes, and actually one of the classes for which my loadout varies the most. I usually play vanilla Demoman, but often switch to Scottish Resistance on defense when there are multiple gates to defend. I also use the Eyelander when the enemy team has lots of Spies, because they make easy decapitations. I almost never use the Chargin' Targe. |
Heavy |
Natascha |
Sandvich |
Fists |
Modest Pile of Hat |
I use Natascha to Jarate people people off because it is very annoying to be slowed down by it, and because I often get meatshotted to death by Scouts if I use Sasha. Any normal Pyro will panic over voice chat, then gib herself. If she does not, she is a Spy, or you're not on a nice server. |
Engineer |
Shotgun |
Pistol |
Wrench |
Modest Pile of Hat |
Hey look buddy, I'm an Engineer. That means that if there is a class I know how to play (I said "if"), then it's the Engineer. However, not many loadout options are available for this poor fellow right now. We'll see how it goes after the Engineer Update (I am pretty sure I will love the Wrangler). Also, I never got a hat for him, despite being my most played class. |
Medic |
Syringe Gun |
Medigun |
Ubersaw |
Otolaryngologist's Mirror |
I do not fight a lot as a Medic, because I not not have to (if you do, you're on a bad team or you are using the wrong class), thus I prefer the Syringe Gun's superior self-healing rate. The little fighting I do get to do is the occasional Spy backstab/facestab attempt, in which case the Ubersaw works quite well. As for the Medigun, I sometimes switch to Kritzkrieg when there already are regular Medigun Medics on the team. |
Sniper |
Huntsman |
Jarate |
Tribalman's Shiv |
Ritzy Rick's Hair Fixative |
I use the Huntsman as a Sniper because I simply handle it better, which is probably the result of arrows using projectile hitboxes. I use Jarate mostly for the lolz factor and because it is very useful against Spies. As for the Tribalman's Shiv, I haven't found it to be as powerful as the Kukri since the bleeding effect does not stack. I am still using it, however, because it also helps revealing cloaked Spies and because it is very rewarding to taunt with it while the bleeding victim is still alive, knowing that it will die before it can kill you. |
Spy |
Ambassador |
Cloak and Dagger |
Knife |
Backbiter's billycock |
I am a sapping Spy, not a backstabbing Spy. As such, I use the Ambassador for the headshots, which are actually quite easy if you take the habit of having your aim at head level. It is also useful for taking out Engineers from a distance. As for the watch, I prefer the Cloak and Dagger because I can take all the time I want before striking, but I often switch to Dead Ringer when the enemy team has no Sentries. |
