Tomislav
“ | Look at all those people scrambling around with their tiny, ugly guns. But this-- this gun is b-e-a-utiful. So pick this beast up and blast away those distrustful little buggers all the way to Hell. Is it worth it? Of course it is.

The Tomislav is a community-created primary weapon for the Heavy, which he has named "Svetlana".[1] It is an oversized, heavily modified Thompson submachine gun with two handles, a cylindrical ammo drum connected to its underside, and a carrying sling hanging from the drum to the handguard.
The weapon features a 20% faster spin-up time and 20% more accuracy than the default Minigun. It also features the "Silent Killer" effect of no maintained spin-up sound, though it still has a quiet jingling sound as the weapon begins spinning-up. However, this comes at the cost of a 20% reduction in firing speed (which, due to a bug with the Minigun, is actually about a 15% lower firing speed).

Bugs
- When firing, the muzzle flash may not be correctly displayed.
- The Tomislav's ambient occlusion bake is inconsistent with the model; the portion where the gun attaches to the barrel is inconsistent from where the AO bake shows the attachment's shadow should be.
- If alt-fire is held down at the same time as primary fire until 1 bullet remains, if the Heavy taps primary fire the muzzle flare and firing noise continue to play. This is visible by other players and in third person.
- When holding the primary fire button during a taunt, the Tomislav's muzzle flash turns invisible.
Trivia
- The name Tomislav is a Slavic male given name, fairly common in South Slavic countries such as Serbia, Croatia, or Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is derived from the old Slavic verb tomiti, meaning "to torture" or "to struggle", combined with "slava", meaning "glory" or "celebration". The weapon's name is a reference to this, while also being a portmanteau of the words "Tommy (gun)", a nickname for the Thompson submachine gun (a World War II-era firearm popularly associated with gangsters), and "Slav", an ethnolinguistic group including Russians.
