The Mann Brothers have had their souls trapped within haunted gravestones. Push your team's saw into the enemy team's grave to destroy it, release their soul, and trap it in hell for good! Maybe hack a couple enemies apart with your saw while you're at it.
Bonesaw publicity blurb

Bonesaw is a community-created Payload Race map added in the Scream Fortress 2022 update.

In Bonesaw, players have to push a cart with a big saw attached to it. The saw damages players of both teams and its purpose is to cut the grave of Blutarch for RED and Redmond for BLU. After finishing the round, both teams are sent to an underworld.

Soul Gargoyles are generated on the map for each player independently during gameplay. The initial alert about a Soul Gargoyle is conveyed vocally to the player by Merasmus, and further notifications may be presented until the player collects the Pickup or it expires and leaves the map. Since a Soul Gargoyles are independent for each player only you can collect a Soul Gargoyle that you receive a notification for. Collecting a Soul Gargoyle rewards the player with 10 souls.

The setup timer is 6 seconds.

Bonesaw was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Hellishly Hollow Horseman

Occasionally, the Hellishly Hollow Horseman spawns where both carts cross paths with each other. He appears as a burning version of the Horseless Headless Horsemann. Despite having no head, the regular spawn animation is played, where he puts nothing on his shoulders. The Hellishly Hollow Horseman has unique footprints that override the regular Headless Horseshoes materials. This affects both the boss and the players who use this Halloween spell on their cosmetic items.

Locations

  • Spawns: Both RED and BLU spawns are inside of a large, partially burnt down building.
  • Lobby: The two available spawn exits lead to the Lobby, a large area divided in half by a broken window. This area is separate from the rest of the map with gates that can only be opened by their respective teams.
  • Cart start: Taking the right/left Lobby gate leads players to the starting location of the carts.
  • Garage: Adjacent to the cart's starting position is a sheltered location containing a medium health and ammo pack. There is also a staircase here descending down to the Barn. Lining the Garage's wall are sawblades.
  • First Crossing: Located next to the Garage, a short distance from the carts' starting positions, is the place where the two tracks intertwine. From this point on, the carts proceed into the opposing team's Barn.
  • Giant Pine: Located between the two spawn buildings is a tall and thick, burning pine tree. Located at the base of the pine is a medium health and ammo pack.
  • Cliff Side: The entire map is surrounded by a large death pit. However, located behind the First Crossing — between the starting positions of the two carts — is a platform hanging above the pit that contains a medium health pack.
  • Barn: An extension of the two spawn buildings, it has two floors. The lower floor serves as a passage for the cart, while the upper floor has an opening leading to the Two Graves. The Barn can be quickly accessed by taking the middle two exits from the Lobby.
  • Cliffside House To the left/right of Barn is a small, single-room house bordering the death pit. The house is located opposite the Two Graves building, with a rollback zone separating the two. The side of the house facing the cliff also has a small terrace, on which a small health pack sits.
  • Second Crossing: After passing the Cliffside House, the two carts once again cross paths in an area located behind the Two Graves. A large health and ammo pack are also found here. There is also a small passage leading directly to the pit below the Two Graves, with a small health and ammo pack in it.
  • Two Graves: A half-collapsed building where the haunted graves containing the trapped souls of the Mann brothers reside. The team has to stay next to cart until the gravedigging process has reached 100%. Located in between the graves of the Mann brothers is a deadly pit.
  • The Underworld: Upon the destruction of a grave, both teams are transported to a fiery obstacle course, with the winning team ahead and the losing team being able to trigger traps.

Unused content

  • A burnt variation of the Horseless Headless Horsemann single-bladed axe exists in the map files, under the name of c_bigaxe_burnt. It was intended to replace the regular axe used by the Hellishly Hollow Horseman, however, due to limitations, it was not possible to implement into the game and was left unused in the map files.[1]
  • An unused QR Code can be found in the game files, not placed anywhere on the map's geometry. Reading the QR Code reveals that it links to the one of the map author's Twitter's profile page.

Bugs

  • Sometimes players may get stuck inside the Payload model while pushing the cart.
  • The purple fog enveloping the map sometimes glitches out.

Trivia

  • 8 skulls can be found across the map, shooting or hitting all 8 causes the addition of large glowing pumpkin faces to appear in the skybox of the map. The skulls are as follows:
    • Behind the BLU cart's starting point.
    • On a dead tree to the left (when viewed from RED's perspective) of the RED cart's starting point.
    • Attached to the wall of BLU's base in the area around the Giant Pine.
    • Located in a coffin, itself is located on a shelf inside of BLU Barn's lower floor.
    • On a shelf inside of the BLU Barn's upper floor.
    • Inside of the pit, specifically below the small health pack ledge.
    • Inside of the RED Cliffside Shed.
    • Jammed in the rafters immediately outside of the RED Lobby.
  • Located below the BLU Cliffside house is a grave out of which the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker sticks out.
