Frostwatch is a community-created Control Point map added in the Smissmas 2022 update. It is a winter-themed version of the custom map Firewatch.

Unique to Frostwatch is that on Stage 2, both control points are available for capture at the same time.

The setup timer is 60 seconds for all 3 stages.

Frostwatch was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Locations

Pictogram comment.png The following locations are described from the BLU perspective.

Stage 1

Point A

  • BLU Spawn: BLU team's spawn in buried into the nearby rock. It has three distinct exits: one on the left, one on the right and one in the middle that flanks from underneath.
  • Mine: The large area right outside of BLU's spawn. It is composed of a large central pitfall that is partially covered by a series of walkways and catwalks.
  • Point A: A small room containing the control point, with two entrances on either side connecting it to the Mine. It sits directly opposite BLU spawn.

Point B

  • Stairways: Three separate slopes lead out of the Mine and from the first control point and towards the surface. All of them end at the Twined Shacks.
    • Left Staircase: A large room to the left of the control point with stairs that terminate in a one-way gate.
    • Right Staircase: A wooden ramp on the control point's right. It is connected to the Corridors.
    • Middle: Right behind the first point is the fastest and most direct route towards Point B.
  • Corridors: Found in the ceiling of the Right Staircase is a dropdown that leads to some twisting and winding hallways.
  • Twined Shacks: A small area at the exit of the Mine that is composed of two huts connected together with a brick bridge. Located behind them is Point B.
  • Watchtower: The platform with the second control point, which sits in front of a tall watchtower. Another building, containing a medium health and ammo pack, is to the left while RED team's spawn is directly to the right.
  • RED Spawn: A small, single room house with two exits facing away from the point, requiring RED to make a U-turn after exiting their spawn in order to reach said point.

Stage 2

Point A

  • BLU Spawn: BLU begins the second stage inside a courtyard located in between a building complex bordering a cliff. Note that due to an invisible wall players cannot actually throw themselves off said cliff. The spawn has three exits: two on the left side leading to the Courtyard and one on the right that is near the Underground Passage.
  • Courtyard: Outside of BLU's left spawn exit, a big open courtyard with three paths to Point A on the left and one to Point B on the right. The two rightmost point A paths lead to high ground and RED team's spawn, and the leftmost path leads to low ground with the control point.
  • Tracks Tunnel: In addition to the Courtyard, Point A can also be accessed via an underground tunnel containing rail tracks that starts from the left-most edge of the map.
  • Point A: Surrounded by catwalks, control point A is set on low ground, located on the left half of the map.
  • Garage exit: RED spawn is connected to the first point via a large garage door that leads to a short hallway and from then on to Point A.

Point B

  • Underground Passage: Outside of BLU's right spawn exit is an underground passageway with two different paths that head to the backside and underside of point B respectively.
  • A/B Connector: This is a narrow hallway which passes in front of RED spawn and connects Points A and B.
  • Central Area: The control point area, separated slightly from RED spawn by the ramp from the underside path.
  • Point B: The second control point occupies the right half of the map.
  • RED Spawn: Much like BLU, RED spawns in a cliff-adjacent courtyard.

Stage 3

Point A

  • BLU Spawn: BLU's final spawn takes place inside of an enormous industrial shed with many exits, rooms and corridors.
  • River: A river directly outside of BLU spawn that spans the length of the control point A's area. The water is deep enough to drown and extinguish players.
  • Control Point House: A small shack in the center of the area across the River which houses control point A. Multiple other buildings surround it that can be used for cover.
  • Frozen Hay: Located to the right of the Control Point House is a slightly larger building housing a medium health and ammo pack.

Point B

  • Hill: A big hill just after point A that leads downwards towards the Final Approach as well as towards control point B. It is surrounded by buildings on all sides.
  • Side Flank: A short flank on the Hill's right side that begins at the top of the Hill and loops back around to its bottom.
  • Balcony: A balcony opposite of Point B which overlooks the entire Final Approach. It is accessible by RED from a staircase on the far left, and by BLU from a doorway on the left, reachable from the top of the Hill.
  • Final Approach: After turning the corner from the Hill there is a long but narrow clearing leading directly to the final point.
  • Barn: Bordering the Final Approach on the right is a building overlooking the final point. Its two floors are connected by a dropdown.
  • Bad Merc's Gift Coal: The alcove containing the control point as well as the RED spawn, whose three exits are located on either side of the point.
