Afterlife is a symmetrical community-created Arena map released during the Scream Fortress 2025 update. It is set in a town in the middle of an alpine forest.
Upon being killed, players are sent to the underworld rather than being dead for the rest of the round. In the underworld, they are tasked with killing another player, assisting in killing another player,[1] or collecting a soul off the ground that randomly spawns (so-called pity souls)[2], then walking through a portal to resurrect themselves, which grants them temporary ÜberCharge and overheal.[3] If a player dies in the underworld, they respawn in the underworld.
There is no First Blood bonus if there are less then seven players on each team[4], and a unique advantage is given to the last player alive on a team in the form of guaranteed Mini-Crits, as well as the Concheror's speed and health-on-hit bonuses.[5] However, the last player alive is also revealed through walls to the enemy team.[6]
The Devil serves as this map's announcer.
Afterlife was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
Locations
- Spawn Room: There are two exits out of each spawn, one leading to the maintenance shed, and the other door leading to an underpass area. Both spawn areas are symmetrical to each other, and inside is a pumpkin bomb.
- Spawn Base: Each spawn exit is connected to specifically the left and right path. Additionally there are a set of stairs for the left side RED, and for the right side BLU which connects to a underground passage nearby the Control Point.

- Underpass: Has 2 Areas, directly to the tower beside the point and the other to the opposing team's area.
The Underground Passage from the RED Spawn Base connecting to Middle Point.
- Underworld Tower: Surrounded by infernal lava, similar to the Middle Tower in the overworld. Instead of a control point there is a large health kit and ammo box.
- Skull Altars: Skull Altars are placed on each side of the Underworld Tower, containing the portal that sends players back.
