Afterlife is a symmetrical community-created Arena map released during the Scream Fortress 2025 update. It is set in a town in the middle of an alpine forest.
Upon being killed, players are sent to the underworld rather than being dead for the rest of the round. In the underworld, they are tasked with killing another player, assisting in killing another player,[1] or collecting a soul off the ground that spawns when there are no enemy players in the underworld (referred to as a "Rogue Soul")[2], then walking through a portal to resurrect themselves, which grants them temporary ÜberCharge and overheal.[3] If a player dies in the underworld, they respawn in the underworld.
There is no First Blood bonus if there are fewer than seven players on either team[4], and a unique advantage is given to the last player alive on a team in the form of guaranteed Mini-Crits, as well as the Concheror's speed and health-on-hit bonuses.[5] However, the last player alive is also revealed through walls to the enemy team.[6]
The Devil serves as this map's announcer.
Afterlife was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
