You were good son, real good; maybe even the best.
The Soldier congratulating map creators

The Mapper's Medallion is an unused miscellaneous item for all classes. It is a gold medal with a hammer on it hanging by a team-colored ribbon with a white stripe down the middle, attached to the player's chest.

The Mapper's Medallion will be given to those who entered the Art Pass Contest and the top three placing winners of the TF2Maps.net Dynamic Payload Contest. It was added to the game files on January 17, 2012 Patch and will distributed soon.[1]

January 17, 2012 Patch

  • [Undocumented] Added the Mapper's Medallion to the game files.

  • The hammer is a reference to Valve's map editor, Hammer.
