The Demoman, defending

The Dark Age Defender is a community-created miscellaneous item for the Demoman. It adds a wrought-iron breastplate, a codpiece, and spiked pauldrons to Demoman's default armour, turning it into plate armour (or it's likeness).

The Dark Age Defender was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "Mail Bomber".

Trivia

  • The item's name refers to the Dark Ages, historical periodization used for the Middle Ages.
  • The original name may be a reference to mail bombs, explosive devices sent via mail with the intention to injure or kill the recipient. In case of this item, "mail" refers to the armour.
  • This item, together with Glasgow Great Helm, was a part of Svdl's Dark Age of Demolition Demoman set.
    • Originally, this item consisted not only of body armour, but also of armour boots and was intended to be a primary passive weapon, like Ali Baba's Wee Booties or Bootlegger.
