The worm has turned, gentlemen!
The Soldier

The Lumbricus Lid is a headwear item for the Soldier that was awarded to those who purchase the game Worms: Reloaded before September 2, 2010. The item itself consists of a webbed helmet adorned with the Worms-style eyebrows and a Worms drawing, along with "Holy Hand Grenades" that replace the Soldier's default frag grenades. Performing the Kamikaze taunt with this equipped will cause the "Hallelujah" sound clip from the Worms games to play.

Trivia

The pose from Meet the Soldier
  • The Lumbricus Lid is similar in appearance to the Soldier's default headgear as well as the Soldier's Stash.
  • Lumbricus is genus of the earthworm family, including most of the commonly seen varieties.
  • The Holy Hand Grenade included in the Lumbricus Lid hat is a reference to the Holy Hand Grenade weapon in Worms 2 through Worms: Reloaded, which itself appears to be a reference to the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail; specifically, "The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch."
    • The Heal grenade (a scrapped weapon) has the same reference.
  • The Worm design on the helmet is the "Steal" weapon icon from Worms: Reloaded.
  • The Lumbricus Lid is the first class-specific promotional hat. All promotional hats released prior to the Lumbricus Lid are available to be worn by any class.
  • The Holy Hand Grenades are a part of this hat and are not separate Miscellaneous items.
  • The Lumbricus Lid is the first item to change the items on the body of the characters, not just the head. The Holy Hand Grenades are the first models to replace any aesthetic items such as Grenades.
  • This is the only hat that has a sound effect attached to it.
  • This hat was shown off on the Official Blog with a still frame from Meet the Soldier, with the Soldier wearing the Lumbricus Lid and holding the attached Holy Hand Grenades.
  • Like other promotional hats, Bill's Hat and Max's Severed Head, it should be able to trade, though some experience difficulties doing so (a message pops up and the trade doesn't happen). It is unknown if this is intended, or if it is a bug.
  • The hat doesn't appear in any Worms game.
