The Puggyback is a community-created cosmetic item for the Engineer. It is a beige fawn pug wearing an orange paintable collar in a team-colored backpack pet carrier on the Engineer's back that wobbles around as the player moves. The pet carrier has a pocket on the front, stuffed with a bone-shaped dog treat.
When players equipped with this item kill an enemy unassisted by another player, the killfeed shows everyone in Pyroland that it gets the assist, with its custom name if it has one.
The Puggyback was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Update history
December 19, 2018 Patch (Smissmas 2018)
- The Puggyback was added to the game.
Notes
- Using the Cream Spirit paint on this item provides absolutely no visual difference in-game on either team. This happens because the exact same color values are used for both the paint and the item's default "unpainted" color.
Trivia
- The name Puggyback derives from the term "piggyback", which is to ride on someone’s back.
