The Hermes is a community-created cosmetic item for the Scout. It is a team-color tinted beige cadet hat with the Scout's logo emblazoned on the front, with team-colored goggles placed above the brim.
The Hermes was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "Provisional Head Protector".

Trivia
- In Greek mythology, Hermes is the messenger of the Gods, best known for his ability to move extremely quickly. The Scout's class icon (displayed above the brim of the hat) is taken from Hermes' winged shoes.
- The term "Don't shoot the messenger" is used as a term to describe attacking the bearer of bad news.
