The Belgian Detective is a community-created hat for the Spy. It is a homburg with a large black band on the crown with another band on the brim, with an accompanying mustache. This item is based on the appearance of Hercule Poirot, a fictional Belgian detective created by Agatha Christie.
The Belgian Detective was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The Double Clue".

Trivia
- The original description referenced the famous crime fiction cliché "The butler did it", when a noble person is murdered and the butler of this person is revealed to be the murderer.
- Originally, this item had two styles: "Too bad", with mustache, and "Off please", without mustache (resembling the Harmburg). The second style was not implemented due to importer tool limits.
- The styles' names refer to a quote from Captain Murphy, from the television program Sealab 2021.
- The name and appearance of the hat refers to Hercule Poirot, a Belgian Detective in novels written by Agatha Christie.
